Trump's Second Term

What made you think they were going to offer any evidence at all? That was a bit unrealistic, wasn't it?
Kenvue the company that makes Tylenol has responded to trump's attack on their product.
On Monday evening, Melissa Witt, a spokeswoman for Kenvue, said in a statement that “we believe independent, sound science clearly shows that taking acetaminophen does not cause autism.” She added, “We strongly disagree with any suggestion otherwise and are deeply concerned with the health risk this poses for expecting mothers and parents.”...Kenvue’s interim chief executive, Kirk Perry, met earlier this month with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the nation’s health secretary, to make the case that there was no link between Tylenol and autism and that the product offered a safe and important way of relieving fevers in pregnant women, according to an account in The Wall Street Journal. Experts in the treatment and causes of Autism, advocacy groups and the autism community are calling trump's claim not only dangerous but "nonsensical."
Shannon Rosa, senior editor of Thinking Person's Guide to Autism, said that while different autism groups disagree about a number of things, they've all agreed that the White House's latest claim is nonsensical. "It feels to me like we've regressed so horribly and intentionally by the administration, because as they've demonstrated constantly, they have no interest in actual science," she said. "They have no interest in research, they have no interest in the welfare of autistic people and their families. They are only interested in whatever people whispering into their ears have told them they should do." USA Today article link

US Leadership. A conman and a wacko.

Interesting the way they worded that. I would have thought they would say that there is no established link between their product and autism but they took it a step further saying that science shows it does not cause autism.

It takes quite a bit more data to prove a negative. I would think they would choose their words carefully though so maybe there is enough data.

Trump: "It's so important to me to see the doctor four times or five times for a vaccine. Don't let them pump your baby up with the largest pile of stuff you've ever seen in your life going into the delicate little body of a baby."

Trump: "I just recommend strongly that you don't use Tylenol ... I just want to say it like it is. Don't take Tylenol. Don't take it! Fight like hell not to take it."

Thanks, Dr. Trump!

Just a full-blown menace, this guy.

I can hope, right?

I wouldn't want to be the manufacturer of tylenol, the mass action lawsuits are just going to come rolling in.

ETA
Johnson&Johnson apparently spun tylenol off in a company called kenvue, so they (J&J) are protected. Kenvue will probably fold under the weight of potential legal liability. Be interesting to know if anyone shorted their stock.
J&J weathered the storm when someone was lacing bottles of Tylenol with cyanide. As a consequence almost anything bottled became tamper-proof or at least tamper-evident, and very hard to open - although my dog managed it the other day.

That's what the VAERs data did before RFK Jr started mucking around with his ignorance of it. After a vaccine or other drug is on the market one can go back and see if there is a correlation between the millions of doses of vaccines or Tylenol that were given and cases of autism.

Millions and millions of women have taken paracetamol whilst pregnant, if it did cause autism we would have learned that decades ago. Such large data rules out it being a cause.
