This why trump stayed out of public view for a while? Didn't want anyone seeing him with minor stroke after-effects?
 
My money is still on him having had another dose of Covid. That rant he posted on Truth Social about the value of Covid vaccines not being properly explained in the middle of his "disappearence" smacked to me of anger at having got it again, and his doctors explaining to him why skipping boosters had probably made it worse than it needed to have been.

Well, who are you going to believe? The people who... look I don't know how to even finish that bleak joke. Do you trust the Venezuelans to honestly report the people killed had no gang affiliation? Of course not. But do you trust those self-serving braggards in the White House not to have made a mistake in identifying the boat? Well, maybe. And do you think that gave them authority to lawfully kill them all with no attempt to stop or detain them? No.
 
Someone who has a stronger stomach than me will have to watch more footage of him to see whether he shows any signs of weakness in his right arm, slurred speech, or if it looks like he's suffering a loss of vision. That would indicate a stroke. If, however, he has watery eyes, especially his right eye, or if he is sensitive to noise, that would suggest Bell's palsy.

At work here, a colleague who is a born -again Christian was telling me how a preacher was shot dead in America. It seems like certain evangelical social media are portraying Charlie Kirk as a sort of Christian prophet who was martyred by godless heathens. I am sure a lot of the evangelical protestant denominations in India are being fed similar stories. They are actually using the word martyred.

He had a hate-on for atheists and all none-Christians so in a sense I suppose you could say he was.

Yep, that's the pretty typical evangelical persecution complex speaking. Everything is a spiritual war between the army of Jesus and the army of Satan. Kirk was a soldier of Jesus so he could only possibly have been killed by a soldier of Satan.

Everybody, worldwide, I heard or read at the end of his first term predicted a second term would be worse, if only because his minders would make sure to remove any members of the administration who might prevent him from achieving his most foolish ideas …

This effectiveness of the vaccine is the difficulty for MAGA to understand. They once got a flu shot because "the wife talked me into it," got flu that year and never got the vaccine again. They have data! It gave 0% protection in a field trial of 1 patient.

That same MAGA dude would ask around and get some data from trusted buddies as well. Then it would be a field study of 4, at best. Because all the other buddies he has were afraid to take the vaccine.

Summary execution in the streets would be even quicker. We have plenty of police who would be willing and happy to carry it out.
