Yes, I have little doubt that it's true, but many of those voters are voting abstractions and statistical ideals and lies, without having to look people in the eye when faced with shameful particulars. Probably won't make much of a difference but a little assignment of responsibility wouldn't hurt either. Remember too that even if only a few people are shamed into reconsidering, it can make a difference.
