Trump's Second Term

Yes, he did.

Assuming the individual cuts are extended for the full 10 years, the Trump tax cut law will add not $1.5 trillion or the revised estimate of $1.7 trillion to our national debt, but about $3 trillion. Add in increased military spending, and the additional debt will soar to nearly $4 trillion–a more than 25% increase from when Trump took office.

Curious, what are the actual numbers to support this? How much debt from 2017 through 2020?

Debt in 2016: $19.573 trillion
Debt in 2020: $26.945 trillion, $7.372 trillion added
Debt in 2024: $35.464 trillion
Current Debt: $37.23 trillion, $1.766 trillion added

$9.138 trillion total added.
9.138/37.23 = 0.245 = 24.5%

Sarcasm: Don't exaggerate. It's less than 25%.

Eh.... Under President Obama the US debt doubled. This may not be something about Trump we want to flaunt around. 25% increase vs 100% increase is ewwwww....

This makes zero sense, so it fits.

The FBI just scrapped its decades-old bachelor’s degree requirement for recruits—and slashed academy training from 18 weeks to 8.

Dilanian also reported that the FBI would be reinstating a requirement that all agents be able to perform one strict pullup — a requirement that Durbin warned could deplete the number of women agents by 30 percent.

So, they want FBI agents who are less educated, less trained, but more buff.

Great.

Only a tiny bit of context, though, is needed to show how misplaced that "ewwww" is. For both Obama and Biden, a huge proportion of that spending is directly attributable to the massive Republican economic disaster that they had to work to clean up. The Republicans that caused those disasters, of course, received the economy in good condition from the Democrats.

Ehh, conceptually, I think it makes perfect sense, honestly? It's just a problem of your assumptions. What they claim is pretense, not principle, after all. Their actions have long shown that you can't trust their words on their face, but their actions are somewhat predictable and "sensible" nevertheless. That the sensible angle requires a much more... unpleasant paradigm to work from than one would prefer to espouse in polite or moral company is another matter.

Wasn't it Democrat Clinton who removed the Glass-Steagall banking restrictions?

As I recall, a lot of President Obama's debt was President Bush's war-related debt, that didn't get put on the books until after he was out of office. I believe the term often used is paying for the war on the country's credit card.

My birthday is tomorrow. You know what I want? What I really want? I want someone to go down to DC. I want someone to wake him up from his slumber on Pennsylvania Ave and bring him here. And I want to look him straight in the eye, and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-ass, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey ◊◊◊◊ he is.

Hallelujah! HOLY ◊◊◊◊.

where's the whiskey?
Got the rhythm going pretty well there. Been reading Shakespeare?
