President Donald Trump is going to bat for Roger Clemens to make the Baseball Hall of Fame — despite rampant speculation that he used steroids late in his career.

In a post to Truth Social on Sunday afternoon, the president shared that he had just played golf with the 11-time All-Star pitcher and then stumped for him to make it to Cooperstown.

“He should be in the Baseball Hall of Fame, NOW!” Trump wrote. “People think he took drugs, but nothing was proven. He never tested positive, and Roger, from the very beginning, totally denies it. He was just as great before those erroneous charges were leveled at him. That rumor has gone on for years, and there has been no evidence whatsoever that he was a ‘druggie.'”


Clemens did indeed deny under oath to Congress that he used performance enhancing drugs. He was then charged with lying to Congress, but acquitted in 2012. Clemens’s ex-trainer, Brian McNamee, testified that he injected Clemens with steroids numerous times from 1998 to 2001.

Why isn't Trump himself in the Baseball Hall of Fame? He never played it but if he had, he would have been the greatest baseball player in the history of humankind. Give him the Nobel Prize for Baseball, add a gold-painted wing to the Baseball Hall of Fame, and give him ten percent of the profits of all league baseball ticket and merchandise sales in perpetuity!

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Friday ordered the authorization of roughly 2,000 National Guard troops in D.C. to begin carrying weapons. It marked a shift in the posture of the guard members, who had been unarmed as they worked to support law enforcement by assisting with community safety patrols, traffic control points and crowd flow support.

In carrying out Hegseth's directive, the Army noted that "Guard members receive initial, regular, ongoing and refresher training" and "complete annual weapons qualifications, prior to carrying weapons."

A White House official told NBC News that despite being armed, as of Saturday night, the National Guard troops in D.C. are not making arrests and will continue to focus their work on protecting federal assets and providing a safe environment for law enforcement officers making arrests.

Hegseth fired two more senior military officials, relieving the heads of the Navy Reserve and Naval Special Warfare Command of their positions.
 
Trump is in an existential crisis. He is not well, but has to put on a show several times a week. As long as he is on TV, he knows he is president. If they start doing Biden style cover up, it is over.

Let me guess, she didn’t follow up immediately to: 1) request he provide proof for his premise; 2) correct him as to who gets counted in the census; and 3) fall off her chair laughing at his last claim.
