Trump's Second Term

$200 million gold-plated ballroom

Leavitt: We are proud to announce that the construction of the new white house ballroom will begin. From 150 years presidents, administrations, and white house staff have longed for a large event space on the white house complex that can hold substantially more guests

Well, I'm thinking the "ball" room must be the size of a pack of cigarettes.

$200 million seems a bit much for a room that small, but that's just my opinion.

Your mileage may vary of course.

70% of US consumer appliances come from South Korea. They are going to get more expensive.
Evidence?
Samsung and LG account for "around 40 percent of the home appliance market in the US", all by themselves. There are other South Korean manufacturers that export consumer appliances to the United States, so the percentage of US consumer appliances that come from South Korea is likely to be considerably greater than 40%.

If we were using MAGA math, South Korea would account for "1100, 1200, 1300, 1400, 700, 600" percent of US imports.

They are all insane.

Lutnick: "Japan gave us $550 billion, South Korea gave us $350 billion. That's $900 billion into a national security and economic fund managed by Donald Trump ... you ain't seen nothing like drill baby drill when you give $900 billion to Donald Trump. Now that is gonna be drill baby drill."

Howard Lutnick on Mamdani: "The people of New York have to get up off their couch and vote ... fortunately, you have Donald Trump in the White House where he's not gonna give this guy any money ... these people in New York have better get off their butts and make sure this communist doesn't run NYC."

Trump extends Mexico deal for 90 days

President Trump has announced on his platform, Truth Social, that he and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum have agreed to extend their current deal.

The latest deal between the US and Mexico is a "25% Fentanyl Tariff, 25% Tariff on Cars, and 50% Tariff on Steel, Aluminium, and Copper."

Translation: "I am a fat, stupid liar but millions of even fatter and stupider people will believe me!"

Nutlick, show us the money!

"Starting on day one, we will end inflation and make America affordable again, to bring down the prices of all goods" - Donald Trump

From: https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us...e-tariffs-boost-some-goods-prices-2025-07-31/
U.S. inflation increased in June as tariffs boosted prices for imported goods...
- Personal consumption expenditures price index rises 0.3%
- Goods prices post largest gain since January
- Core PCE inflation increases 0.3%; up 2.8% year-on-year

Donald has made a peace deal every month since he was elected apparently

Leavitt: "The president has now ended conflicts between Thailand and Cambodia, Israel and Iran, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, India and Pakistan, Serbia and Kosovo, and Egypt and Ethiopia. This means President Trump has brokered on average about one peace deal or ceasefire per month during his 6 months in office. It's well past done that President Trump was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize."

Even if you take at face value that "[t]he president has now ended" all those conflicts personally, it's pretty telling that the whole point of her little speech sems to be not that that's a good thing for a President to be doing, but that this one should get the cookie he's always lusted after for doing it. Even stopping war is a battle that he must be seen to have won- everything truly is a transaction with a winner and loser by it.
