Trump's Second Term

If he was an ISF member he'd have a 'matters of interest to' thread of his own.
"A thread for RealDonaldDump to discuss his ideas about tariffs, ICE and scary brown people". Closed after less than a page.

Oh, and you bet he'd be one of those loons who kept creating sock after sock, too. We'd never get rid of him.

This could be in the "Face, meet leopard; leopard, meet face" thread, but it works here, too.

He's lived in the U.S. since he was 3. At 46, he was denied re-entry at the border

Full story at the CBC
Redhat: 'I want Donald Dump to deal with all the criminal foreigners!'
Führer: 'We are denying you entry for being a criminal foreigner.'
Redhat: 'NOT LIKE THAT!' (or 'I DIDN'T VOTE FOR THIS!')

The latest unhinged Trump responses to the Epstein fiasco has me wondering what will happen next...
I've wondered, if anything was clearly personally damning in the files, why not completely obliterate them or hide them when they are in your (FBI) possession?
But now Trump is backed in a corner, because for years he nourished the CTs that he now is forced to deny exist. So he either has to release 'something' that has enough meat in it to appease his base, or just admit it was a nothing burger all along.
He clearly is using his usual strategy of 'blame Biden and the Democrats' but it does not seem to be working this time.
My hunch is that the files implicate him but not in a necessarily criminal way, just in a way that would make him look bad, which for a person who is immune to criminal prosecution may be just as bad.
The way some of the MAGAchud are turning on Trump over Epstein has me a little.... confused.

There were so many other reasons to turn on Trump (supporters complaining "he's deporting the wrong people", or "I wanted OTHER people to lose medicaid, not me").

And when it comes to Epstein, its been known for quite some time (way before the last election) that Trump had a relationship with him. (We've got plenty of photos of them together, not to mention Trump's quotes about Epstein "liking young", so Trump admitted he was aware of.... problems') And its not like this is the first 'sex-based' scandal Trump has been involved in.

And this isn't even the first conspiracy theory Trump has pushed, or the first time he promised some action and backed off. (Last time I checked, Clinton was not in jail.)

So why, all of a sudden, are so many MAGAchud upset that the man who hung out with Epstein isn't releasing yet more information on Epstein?

At least he is an actual criminal, although convictions of possession of marihuana, and driving with a suspended license puts him not quite in the league with murderers, and rapists that Trump claims he is protecting Americans from. But I am sure that this guy will be listed as a dangerous criminal in the statistics.
A criminal from a decade ago? Congress needs to better define who qualifies as a criminal. Long shot but it could slow Trump's army down, maybe.

Reminds me of Robin Williams' bit on Gaddafi:
Here is a man who had
the audacity to go,

"It's a line of death,
you cross it, you die.

"Okay, you cross
this line, you die.

(laughter)

"Okay, you cross
this line, you die.

"This line, you die.

"Okay, you knock on my door
I'm not coming out, nah."

Nearer two decades ago.

It's not as if he was still wanted for some old unpunished crime. He was caught at the time and convicted and presumably served whatever punishment was deemed fit. Now two decades on he's being retrospectively punished some more, rehabilitation be damned.

It's almost as though they really don't believe in forgiveness.

Forgiveness is for people who've been convicted of 30 to 35 felonies and suffered no consequences or shown any contrition. After all, didn't Jesus himself say "Go now, and be investigated no more".

I don't think anything matters except excuses for who ICE is picking up. Thus the claim they are all criminals if they entered the country illegally or over stayed their visa (both crimes). It's backfiring. The public is turning against ICE and Trump.

Meanwhile, a bit of popcorn over the Epstein files.

My sense in all this MAGA "won't someone think of the children" noise that's been in the air for so long has little or nothing to do with looking out for kids and really about getting at and bringing down "them," which is to say noteworthy Democrats and other left-leaning names in show biz and elsewhere. Or am I slipping into my Captain Obvious costume without realizing?
