As a side note, a word for playing cards in some languages is trump. Trump is also a thing in some card games. There are also a number of Trump art focused playing card decks. How much any of that's played into Trump's recent focus, I can't say, but one of Trump's more minor crimes has been the irritation that I've felt when hearing the word trump in playing card settings.

They were talking on r/conservative talking about removing the sale of federal land from the BBB ... and someone said something about accommodating growth in the U.S. population. I asked, how are you seeing growth? Fertility is below replacement numbers and you want to kick out all the immigrants. Any bill to increase legal immigration is going to fail, I 99.99 percent guarantee it. The xenophobia is too strong.

How is the U.S. population going to grow? I was genuinely curious. I didn't get a response, not surprising because my posts are often taken down after a few hours, but ... where do they think the growth is coming from? Romanian-style breeding programs?

I realize this thread is talking about economic growth, not population. But somehow this fellow thought there would be more Americans in the future and I could not see how he got there.

well a big part of economic growth is having adequate labor to use to expand the economy. and yeah, these policies are not likely to result in either type of growth. so in both the sense that they're both forms of growth and the sense that you can't see how he got there, they're both linked.
