Trump's Second Term

Now now, you can't wake little children too soon on their birthday, they get over stimulated and can't play with their new toys then.
But I'm sure Trump will do the presidential thing and visit the family of the murdered politicians instead of basking in the adoration of soldiers ordered to hail him.
I doubt he'll make a comment at all, since he doesn't care, and he might get a chance to sit in a tank and go vroom vroom instead. But if he does, I'm also willing to bet it will be equivocal, saying how bad it is to shoot people, but...there will always be a but that makes it their fault for not being in his choir.

Donald got a birthday phone call from Putin.

Donald J. Trump
@realDonald Trump
President Putin called this morning to very nicely wish me a Happy Birthday, but to more importantly, talk about Iran, a country he knows very well. We talked at length. Much less time was spent talking about Russia/Ukraine, but that will be for next week.
He is doing the planned prisoner swaps - large numbers of prisoners are being exchanged, immediately, from both sides.
The call lasted approximately 1 hour. He feels, as do I, this war in Israel-Iran should end, to which I explained, his war should also end.

Not a cult

Treasury Secretary...
@SecScottBessent
Happy Birthday to President Trump, who is leading the most consequential political movement in modern history and ushering in a New Golden Age for America.
It is only fitting that @POTUS, one of the greatest patriots to ever serve the American people, was born on Flag Day, which we also proudly commemorate today.

Well, I am still hardly a fan of Trump, but on this one I'll have to eat crow. It appears he condemned the assassinations without an equivocation.
Well since the suspect was apparently a Tim Walz appointee, I am sure they are busy trying to spin this as being all the fault of the Dems.

I know he tried to have a parade the first time around, with tanks and all. I thought it was determined that Washington D.C. streets would not be able to handle the tank treads and would get chewed up, resulting in a lot of costs for repair? Of course, at this point, costs to the taxpayers are of no consequence.

Watching some of it now. Quite different from other parades, with no floats or balloons. Very green. I'm all for a military parade (I will be very interested to see my Marines' 250th Birthday this Nov 10). But the one I have one keeps cutting to The POSOTUS and I hate that. I notice that while some soldiers are saluting, some are not. People riding in tanks, for example. I assume they are all active duty?

Especially the taxpayers of The District, who are mostly people of color. Good luck to them trying to collect anything from the DoD for repairs.

I thought I read that they were laying out steel plates to protect the roads. If so, I'm assuming it was a really short parade. Past trump's viewing stand was the only important part, after all.

How is his hair doing in the rain?
There is a protected review stand. I wouldn't have expected him or anyone not to have one. But they did start the parade early to hopefully beat the rain. I'm glad for the soldiers in that instance. I do have to wonder where they are all staying -- tents in stadiums or fields, perhaps?
