Of course. The only metric that matters to Trump is attention: or, in his terms, "ratings". And he knows that on the day of his super magnificent birthday parade about him the rest of the planet was busy watching the Israel/Iran stuff, paying attention to news about the assassination of those two politicians in Minnesota, and protesting against him in cities all over the US and even abroad.

Hell, Sir David Beckham and Lady Posh got more attention (rightfully so) than old Trump's failparade of rainy boring.

Hmm. They detained him only until they could hand him over to police. He had no complaints about their behaviour. The real story here seems to be the stupidity that they detained the man on the grounds he appeared to present a threat to the federal building he works in while he was attempting to get to work there.

It sounds like they pounced because he stepped over a tape barrier. In a sane world they would have been directing employees on how to enter the building.

In a sane world they'd have been taking out the ICE agents. With prejudice.

There is a protected review stand. I wouldn't have expected him or anyone not to have one. But they did start the parade early to hopefully beat the rain. I'm glad for the soldiers in that instance. I do have to wonder where they are all staying -- tents in stadiums or fields, perhaps?
