Trump's Second Term

I'm on a group in FB that has crashed and restarted two times with new moderators. They are trying to bothsides American politics discussion. I put in a Robert Reich column on the coming police state. That gave the moderators a lot of work. They wanted "facts." Probably half the group is not in the US. I put in an explanation of Posse Comitatus with a link. Most of them had never heard of it. Even people here for 30 years.

Just like he did with the big, beautiful flow of water after the fires were almost extinguished …?
As I mentioned in that fire thread, I have a good friend who relocated to West LA about 30 years ago and has lived there ever since. He loves it. Through him -- and his Facebook page -- I've become acquainted with some other Angelenos. Right now they are despondent, almost disoriented, over what trump is doing to California. trump knows most of his supporters loathe California, especially LA, and trump is using his power as president to trash the state. It keeps the magamutts entertained and -- as trump said after his Oval Office sitdown with Zelenskyy -- it makes for "great TV."

Absolutely THE worst president in American history. Never been anything like this before and, over the next three year-and-a-half years it is only going to get worse. It is very scary.

But one biggied is that ever since the Civil War, Federal Troops this has been done only with the consent of the State and Local CIvil Authoraties.
This did not happen here.
Not sure this is strictly true did state and local authorities back the deployment of federal troops to integrate schools?

Somebody elsewhere (Slugger O'Toole, a Norn. Ireland politics blog) mentioned that as a good point for TACO "saving" California. I replied indirectly that it was just releasing huge gobs of water into the Pacific.

Completely ignoring the fact that California is the biggest driver of the US economy. If the state flags, so too the nation.

Hegseth claiming 21 million illegals" entered under Biden.

Donald invented the 20 million at a campaign rally. Hegseth not only repeats it but adds an extra million.

I've heard from the fat clown and his maga weirdoes that the numbers were anywhere from 11 to 60 million, and I always tell them that they should get together and get their "facts" straight, but as usual, they're too stupid to try and prove they're not stupid.

As a matter of fact, the weirdoes insist that illegal crossings since the fat clown took office have dropped by 93%, but none of them can tell me what the exact number of illegals that 7% represents.

It makes me wonder how true that statement actually is.

Sen. Kevin Cramer on raising the federal minimum wage, which is currently $7.25: "I don't even know why we have a 'federal minimum wage' to be honest ... I think the market works really well ... I just think manipulating markets with mandatory wages doesn't make any sense."

Well he's not wrong, there are so many loopholes its practically meaningless.
