Trump's Second Term

He's known to interact with 15-year-old girls getting undressed and dressed in changing rooms - they should expect a geriatric doddering orange bag of piss and ◊◊◊◊ to gawk at them.
And those 15 year old girls better understand they need to keep buying dozens of Chinese-made dolls at their new higher price, because that's how he's going to fund tax cuts.

I know it's not what you're reacting to, but the modern state of mainstream journalism is also very much worthy of a hand-over-face emoji. Welker's insipidly-vacuous "question" put zero pressure on Trump to provide a detailed, considered response.

How about instead:

WELKER: The state of the U.S. economy during the last two-to-four quarters of the previous administration was, according to [cites one or two reputable sources] robust and trending positive. [Insert GDP, job growth, inflation, etc. figures for several months/quarters prior to January 2025, and the same post inauguration.]

TRUMP: [Lies.]

WELKER: Sir, these figures, from, for instance, the bi-partisan Congressional Budget Office, clearly indicate you're mistaken.

He's not going to answer questions honestly. He's not going to stop regurgitating his lies. He's not going to stop misdirecting and spinning. He's never himself going to acknowledge he's not the greatest thing ever and everything that came before him sucked and everything now is grand beyond measure. Stop thinking he's there to listen to, much less acknowledge, whatever you want to talk about.

STOP. TREATING HIM. LIKE A NORMAL INTERVIEWEE ON ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT!

But this isn't just a Trump issue. The fact is that most of the media is owned, and presented, by people whose personal interests mean they benefit from the transfer of wealth from poor to rich that Trump deliver. Then you have the distorted concept of balance that means information that should simply be presented up as established fact is instead reduced to one viewpoint in an argument (see vaccines and climate change for examples). On top of that you have the tradition of deference to the office of President and you get interviews like this. Should make it clear this isn't a purely US issue, we've seen it in the UK and the rest of Europe as well, all helping the rise of right wing crackpots to political prominence.

CNBC: Will you potentially block the Verizon merger with Frontier Communications because of DEI policy?

FCC COMMISSIONER BRENDAN CARR: Yeah. Of course ... I've told everybody that if they want to get a deal done before the FCC, they need to get rid of any invidious forms of discrimination.

Markwayne Mullin: "Let's have Riker & Alcatraz both open. So we got east coast & west coast both covered, & put our most notorious criminals in them so people understand we're a nation of laws again, unlike under Biden... I don't believe in keeping them comfortable. I want them to regret the crime"

So to which one should your felon boss be sent?

Nation of laws my ass.

Rep. David Joyce on Trump saying girls should have fewer dolls: "The idea that the Christmas trade is already starting to slow down and there might be less around, I get it. I think the American people will understand that because the American people understand shared sacrifice."

Even Tories are saying this.

The American people voted for prices to drop the minute the fascists took office. Or within 24 hours. Or whatever it was. Sacrifices were supposed to be made by the Undesirables.

So, Trump has cancelled Christmas. And it's not just for girls. It's shared sacrifice. Everyone gets 90% fewer dolls for Christmas.

Umm. Is there a grown up there we could talk to?

Remember when Trump campaigned on sacrifices that the American people will have to make?

Me neither.
Remember how republicans go ballistic when "the left" tries to control their spending? (stubby mcbonespurs and his plumbing fixation, meatball Ron and gas stoves in Florida)

I guess it's ok when republicans control people's spending.
