Trump's Second Term

The problem with the US constitution was that it was designed to protect against democracy; can't let poor people have a say, they may want to rebalance wealth. I would bet that most of the framers would be at least neutral towards Trampy, given that he protects the interests of the ultra rich.
It's supposed to protect against the populist. The culture wars have come to give the Republicans the lead. Poor people hate trans people more than they want a better life for themselves,

Stephen Miller: "If you had a choice between a doll from China that might have lead paint from it that is not as well constructed, as a doll made in America that has a highly environmental and regulatory standard ... and those two products are both on Amazon, that yes, you probably would be willing to pay more."

Reporter: GM says tariffs will cost the company between $4 and $5 billion. Ford says they can't commit to not raising prices. Is this administration open to doing more to give automakers relief?

Miller: The question unfortunately misses the entire point.
Within a few weeks US dolls will contain more lead than Chinese ones. Then you will kill to pay more for US dolls.

If they wanted federal control over how the states run their education, wouldn't it have made more sense to strengthen the Department of Education rather than dissolving it? I mean, even aside from the motives for wanting such control and how they'd employ it, it's just stupid how they're going about it. Not only are these people bad, they're bad at it.
They'll replace the states with Gaus.

Trump walk now just like Biden walk. Some dragging.
And there's a bunch of nazis below the line saying things like "oh, it's only because he's working so hard to save Murrika!" (hate to break it to you chump, but if you added up all the work Trampy has done in his whole life, it wouldn't amount to an eight hour day), or "why can't you lot learn to be nice?" (because the last time people were nice to nazis, the holocaust happened).

That comment thread reminded me of why I deleted social media. Oh, and yes, lots of desperate cultists in there.

To poke at a slightly OT counterpoint to the present -

Harris delivered a speech and, clearly, the US would have been so incredibly much better off with her at the helm.

For example -

We all know, Trump and his allies are counting on the notion that fear can be contagious. They are counting on the notion, that if they make some people afraid, it will have a chilling effect on others. But what they are overlooking, what they have overlooked, is that fear is not the only thing that is contagious. Courage is contagious. The courage of Americans who are banding together in the face of the worst man-made economic crisis in modern presidential history

So much for wrecking deep state in a year and playing golf the last 3 years.
The impasse over DOGE reflects a looming challenge for the administration’s vision of a sprawling overhaul of federal agencies. With both the courts and Congress refusing to provide legal cover to spending cuts that Musk forced through, the administration is running out of options for ensuring that its unilateral reductions take effect — potentially limiting DOGE’s lasting impact despite the disruption it brought to the government.

“None of the activities of the DOGE have heretofore had any impact on the budget, the debt or the deficit. Until Congress acts, those savings don’t really become real,” said Robert Shea, a Republican who served in senior political roles at the White House budget office.

The White House — which released its budget proposal Friday — has to choose between implementing the funding Congress approved or violating federal budget law, triggering a constitutional crisis, according to Shea and several other budget experts.

The fact that current and future uncertainty and economic woe is being self-inflicted by a madman insurrectionist who was intentionally returned to office by popular vote means that the entire planet:
  • Blames the US, and only the US
  • Knows the US means them intentional harm (dude, this is bad)
  • Is now taking a new and solemn oath about "Never again", this time about never again trusting in the US
No smooth-talking Democrat can successfully turn things around this time, because, OMG, a madman insurrectionist was intentionally returned to office by popular vote. That gives the USA a new character and identity. See, for contrast, events in South Korea and Brazil.

Problem is, all the other choices for world leadership are as dangerous, without that being any sort of mitigating excuse. Either smaller nations get their ◊◊◊◊ together, or freedom, political freedom, will vanish. The UN needs a Freedom Caucus, this time one that is not a cynical play on words.

well it seems to me that his plan to turn the us into a right wing authoritarian state is destined to fail. he was somewhat unpopular going into this, and has spent that short time destroying the economy and dismantling programs that help the public. this summer he'll be attempting to arrest governors and teachers over dei and following the law, and ordering the military to attack protestors while the stores are empty and unemployment spikes.

Of course I strongly agree.

And yet, I saw a recent poll showing the majority of respondents still feel like Trump is doing a better job as president than Harris would have. Which is quite disheartening.

CNN’s chief data analyst Harry Enten on Thursday highlighted a new poll showing President Donald Trump still “comes out on top” over Kamala Harris when Americans were recently asked who would be doing a “better job” in the White House.”

Getting ready to ignore the courts.

@realDonald Trump
Can it be so that Judges aren't allowing the USA to Deport Criminals, including Murderers, out of our Country and back to where they came from? If this is so, our Country, as we know it, is finished! Americans will have to get used to a very different, crime filled, LIFE. This is not what our Founders had in mind!!!
