Trump's Second Term

Sen. Kennedy:

"In terms of the president's first 100 days, it's hard to find the honey in the rock and the water in the stone in 100 days. But having said that, I think President Trump has done some things right."

"We're gonna try to redesign the tax code so that it looks like somebody designed it on purpose and increase wages at the same time so that people can tolerate these high prices."

I think its great that Amazon is doing this.

(I know Bezos gets a lot of flack for being one of the "super elite wealthy", but he occasionally does stuff like this which is beneficial. Or at least his companies do.)

I strongly suspect he’ll find a way to “bend the knee” and change course on this if asked/threatened.

So there will be higher prices..?

I'm curious to know what the previous requirement was for truck drivers. Did they really have to speak English to some standard, or just have to understand English road signs ect?

Also, are any truck drivers genuinely angry at other truck drivers inability to speak English (perhaps because they don't understand the chatter on CB :))? Or is their anger actually at the idea of foreign truck drivers taking their jobs, or is Duffy just making the entire claim up?

Can someone with no English comprehension currently obtain a commercial driver's license? I know that Virginia and Maryland have a Spanish version of the written test but for the actual behind-the-wheel part of the test the instructions are only given in English. I'm too lazy ro research all the states.

Cofeve, oranges, anonamouch, bing-bong-bong, etc.

He knows about every sport.
USFL.
He knows about trade.
Umm. no.
He knows about the border
He knows where it is.
. He's so equipped for this job,
No, he isn't.
and I think he's having more fun this go round
Yes, he's being more cruel, which he enjoys.
... he is gifted."
Yes, his father gifted him millions.

If you saw the video of that first staff meeting where they went around the table and fawned over him shamelessly, and you watch the Fox Morning Morons practically felating him, you have to conclude it is a cult. Either that or it's a sustained troll. No, it's a cult.

Grift, the term is grift.

Do they need to obtain a US commercial license, or does the US recognise those of other countries?

I think we're getting to the point where the US doesn't recognise any other countries at all, aren't we?

There are no other countries, just states that haven't been incorporated yet...

Remind me which President signed the Women, Peace and Security Act into law?

Pete Hegseth
@PeteHegseth
This morning, I proudly ENDED the “Women, Peace & Security" (WPS) program inside the @DeptofDefense.
WPS is yet another woke divisive/social justice/Biden initiative that overburdens our commanders and troops - distracting from our core task: WAR-FIGHTING.

WPS is a UNITED NATIONS program pushed by feminists and left-wing activists. Politicians fawn over it; troops HATE it.
Afternoon

DoD will hereby executive the minimum of WPS required by statute, and fight to end the program for our next budget.
GOOD RIDDANCE WPS!

Duffy: "The president has been historic in how much he's done, how fast he's moving ... I still pinch myself that I get to call the president and he'll pick up my call or call me back. It's really remarkable. I saw him yesterday. He doesn't stop! ... he has so much energy and is so joyful."

CNBC: But will it expand the deficit?

REP. JASON SMITH: In fact we are going to expand the growth in the economy

CNBC: Will it expand the deficit?

SMITH: We are going to have pro-growth policies that's going to increase the revenue for our country

Trump Regime attacks Amazon for being "hostile and political" due to Amazon's plan to list tariff pricing. Amazon bends the knee and claims that it was never their plan.

Good point! A little Googling found that a driver with a Mexican CDL can drive in the US. (but legally they can only deliver the cargo that they're bringing in from Mexico or take a shipment back to Mexico - they can't pick up a load in the US and deliver it to another place in the US).

So there are 2 questions:
1) Is Trump going to change the regulation about Mexican truck drivers driving into the US?
2) Since states and not the federal govt. issue CDLs, how is Trump going to enforce his English-only policy?

In answer to your questions, he has no idea. He's an ideas man (although IMO they're almost universally bad ideas), and ideally other people would think through the implications of his ideas and how to enforce them. Unfortunately he's surrounded himself with incompetent sycophants so there's no-one to do that.

Then again, it doesn't really matter. The key thing is that he got to announce a policy that filthy foreigners couldn't drive trucks and that as a result proud American truckers' jobs are safe. He, and the whole Republican Party have no interest in actually governing so from their perspective it's job done.
