Trump's Second Term

U.S. launches large strikes in Yemen as President Trump promises "overwhelming lethal force" until Houthis cease shipping attacks.

*SIGH* Trump never wrote that. It's not his writing style, and it's the weekend so he is still GAR too busy golfing and being racialist.

'Deeply disturbing': Musk's 'Hitler didn't murder millions' repost draws outrage

Jesus H. ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ Christ, what is wrong with this man? How much ketamine can he take and still live?
No one should be disturbed by this anymore. We know Elonia and Dump are goose stepping towards a new Nazi regime. That's established and should be acknowledged by everyone by now.

As for your second question, I too hope Elonia and Dump hop the twig before long. The way Musk lives, he's overdue for a well-deserved burnout.

Also, even if he doesn't, we know that getting way too little sleep is strongly correlated with dementia. Musk will go the way of Dump as he ages, steadily more confused and forgetful.

There has in the past been an argument that we cannot make believe that all the guilt for the Holocaust falls on Hitler and his high ranking henchmen. The Holocaust required a massive machine of tens of thousands of low-level workers to help make it happen.

The guy who drove the train, the guard who moved the people, the guy who dropped in the Zyklon-B canister, the man who kept the ovens burning, the men who collected the clothes from the bodies, the cooks who fed all the personnel involved, etc etc.

A massive bureaucracy of lower level workers was required.

Discussed in this book:

Seems like destroying massive bureaucracy would be an act against fascism.

Also seems like the government that had been wielding such a massive bureaucracy must have been a fascist government.

Or maybe they were fascists because of the things they did, and not because of an arbitrary size of government.

Maybe it's the people with fascist ideas and plans who are actually fascist.

There is no interpretation where this is the point Musk was making.

Unless, of course, we're saying America's public employees are murderers.
On the one hand, the lesson that must never be forgotten about the Nazis is that they were not monsters, they were entirely ordinary people who behaved like monsters. On the other hand they did not murder millions because they were 'public sector workers'. They murdered millions because they were blindly loyal to a charismatic lunatic who demanded absolute loyalty to his insane vision of making his country great again.

On the other other hand, Musk seems to be having some kind of a breakdown, claiming the people he's cheerfully chainsawing are Nazis. What a ◊◊◊◊.

During trump's speech at the Department of Justice on Friday -- which has been described as "campaign-like" -- he also compared himself yet again with "the great" Al Capone -- the great Al Capone? what the actual hell?? -- and referred to himself in the third person as he often does.
Trump continued: "I was attacked more than anybody in the history of our country. Alphonse Capone — the great Alphonse Capone, legendary Scarface — was attacked only a tiny fraction of what Trump was attacked." There, he referred to himself in the third person — a not uncommon habit in recent years. Irish Star online edition article link
So Pam Bondi, the attorney general of the United States, is there, hears trump refer to Al Capone as being "great," hears trump claim to have been attacked more than anyone else "in the history of our country," and what is the attorney general of the United States' take on all this? That trump is "the greatest president in the history of our country.”

Alien Enemies Act was just invoked by Trump. I am curious to see what mental gymnastics the MAGA/Nazis will perform about this obvious power grab to deport people he just doesn't like.

To be fair, the only crime Al Capone committed was convicted was tax crimes. Like Trump, all the evidence for the crimes were fabricated by the deep state.

Maybe it's the people with fascist ideas and plans who are actually fascist.
Maybe there are even examples from history of nations with large, even byzantine, bureaucracies which did not decide to murder millions of people. Like, pretty nearly all of them.

I wonder if an aptitude for civil service is not after all conducive to thoughts of murdering everyone.

Bureaucracy is actually a deterrent to fascism. It means rules and regulations that keep the powerful from doing authoritarian things.
Massive bureaucracy is needed to maintain a strong police state with total control over the people, the press, schools, employers, etc. Its pretty much required for a traditional fascist regime.

I guess, then, that bureaucracy neither helps or deters fascism, as it is just a tool to enforce rules and regulations. It is how the bureaucracy is used and designed that matters.

which is exactly why trump has purged all the bureaus to install loyalists to positions of power. Along with attacking and censoring traditional media in an effort to control the press.

"Great" is one of Trump's favorite words. He uses it for anyone and anything he likes as his vocabulary is very limited. Besides Capone, he used it for a fictional psychopathic murderer, Hannibal Lecter.

Its much easier to institute fascism with a large bureaucracy, than without.
