Trump's Second Term

He could've been anything he wanted to be
But don't it make your heart glad
That he decided, a fact he takes pride in
He became the best at being bad.

A song Written for Donald and his cronies.

We're rotten to the core
And my congratulations no one likes you any more
Bad guys, we're the very worst
Each of us contemptible, we're criticised and cursed
We made the big time, malicious and mad
We're the very best at being bad

U.S. launches large strikes in Yemen as President Trump promises "overwhelming lethal force" until Houthis cease shipping attacks.

“Our brave Warfighters are right now carrying out aerial attacks on the terrorists’ bases, leaders, and missile defenses to protect American shipping, air, and naval assets, and to restore Navigational Freedom,” Trump said in a social media post. “No terrorist force will stop American commercial and naval vessels from freely sailing the Waterways of the World.”

'Deeply disturbing': Musk's 'Hitler didn't murder millions' repost draws outrage

WASHINGTON − Billionaire Elon Musk, who has been cutting thousands of federal workers as the head of Department of Government Efficiency, on Thursday reposted a message on X saying “Hitler didn’t murder millions of people. Public sector employees did.”

The post read: “Stalin, Mao, and Hitler didn’t murder millions of people. Their public sector employees did.”

Jesus H. ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ Christ, what is wrong with this man? How much ketamine can he take and still live?

Musk's repost, which now appears to be deleted, drew furious reactions from a labor union and the Anti-Defamation League.

Lee Saunders, president of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, fired back:

“America’s public service workers — our nurses, teachers, firefighters, librarians — chose making our communities safe, healthy and strong over getting rich. They are not, as the world’s richest man implies, genocidal murderers.”

“Elon Musk and the billionaires in this administration have no idea what real people go through every day. That’s why he’s so willing to take a chainsaw to people’s jobs, Medicaid, Social Security and Medicare,” Saunders said.

Autopen

It means that every bill signed, every EO, decision and appointment made by Biden is null and void apparently

Elon Musk
@elonmusk

True 😂

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

The person who was the real President during the Biden years was the person who controlled the Autopen!

There has in the past been an argument that we cannot make believe that all the guilt for the Holocaust falls on Hitler and his high ranking henchmen. The Holocaust required a massive machine of tens of thousands of low-level workers to help make it happen.

The guy who drove the train, the guard who moved the people, the guy who dropped in the Zyklon-B canister, the man who kept the ovens burning, the men who collected the clothes from the bodies, the cooks who fed all the personnel involved, etc etc.

A massive bureaucracy of lower level workers was required.

Discussed in this book:

There is no interpretation where this is the point Musk was making.

Unless, of course, we're saying America's public employees are murderers.

I agree with Olmstead. Your argument is ridiculously specious, but not out of character for you.

Guilt is not a zero-sum property.
If two people beat a helpless person to death, they are as guilty as if each had done it alone.

So Hitler can be 100% guilty, and so can be every person who assisted in making the Holocaust happen be 100% guilty.

But if you do want to make a ranking, the person in the group of culprits most able to make the atrocity not happen is the most guilty.

The NYT reported, "Pam Bondi, the attorney general, echoed Mr. Blanche, calling Mr. Trump “the greatest president in the history of our country” and saying she works “at the directive of Donald Trump.”" I thought that the Justice Department was supposed to have some independence from the office of the president.
The attorney general of the United States said donald trump is “the greatest president in the history of our country?" The attorney general of the United States said that? What the actual hell??? This was during trump's appearance Friday at the Department of Justice. Among other things:
U.S. President Donald Trump's campaign-like speech at the Department of Justice on Friday sparked a fresh wave of alarm over the Republican's attacks on his critics, disrespect for the rule of law, and plans for his second term. Trump—who was convicted of 34 felonies in New York before returning to the White House—slammed his perceived opponents as "scum" and "thugs," called efforts to hold him accountable for alleged criminal activity "bull----," and declared: "We will expel the rogue actors and corrupt forces from our government. We will expose... their egregious crimes and severe misconduct." AlterNet article link

It was also widely reported that there is speculation that when and if there is a vacancy on the Supreme Court -- Clarence Thomas is 76 and Samuel Alito is 74 -- trump will appoint Florida District Judge Aileen Cannon to the Court.

This goes from horrifying to absolutely hellish!

I guess the most favorable interpretation is that the bureaucracy and what-not made the Holocaust possible, and by gutting the public sector, Musk is protecting us from genocide ... which sounds absolutely insane, and is essentially calling public sector workers would-be murderers.

I don't think it even has a hint of historical accuracy. Hitler and his stooges didn't need a public sector, they just appointed people to do those things, and then they did them. The only thing they needed was a willing army (which, quite conspicuously, neither Musk or Trump want to touch).
