Why would you think that ?TBH, I was really hoping that would happen under the Biden administration. Something like, "whoa, look how much a rogue president could screw things up! We should reinforce the guardrails, put more checks in place, etc, just in case that ever happens again." Instead, as far as I can tell, all that happened was that Biden cancelled Trump's Schedule F EO, which of course Trump promptly reinstated once he was back in office.
You'd think it's the sort of thing that you could get Congress to support.
I'm pretty bitterly disappointed about that.
The Republicans have demonstrated for at least a couple of decades that they have no interest in governing and for the past 9 years have been firmly in the thrall of Donald Trump. They have absolutely no interest in, and no intention of, firming up the guardrails - indeed they want to weaken the guardrails by threatening to deport judges who rule against Trump and suppressing free speech.
