According to reports, elonia and his kollege kids krew have placed federal employees on leave for having attended diversity training.

Training that a) was mandatory and b) took place during trump's first term.

He demonstrated in his first term that the so-called check and balances were nothing bar a gentlemen's agreement. There can be no opposition to what he is doing, yes some people will try the courts but in the end that will be end up with a supreme court ruling and even if they should rule against him how are they going to enforce their ruling? The USA is now for all functional definitions a dictatorship, and they the USA population voted for it.

And he had told them exactly what he would do, this time there was no excuse.

According to one theory, everyone who works in the executive branch serves at the pleasure of the President and may be dismissed at any time without cause.

According to another theory, the "pleasure" principle extends only to those appointed. People who are only employed by the executive enjoy ordinary protections on their employment that include not being fired for alleged political reasons.

Of course no one will enforce anything. It doesn't matter whether you obey the law if you own the police. However, the fired employees may have some recourse in civil actions.

I suspect Trump is crashing California's economy in retaliation for its opposition to his political aims. He has cowed the workforce into absenteeism, and he "released the water" that should have been held in reserve for the summer. As the inhabitant of a desert state, I am keenly aware of water management. We have to carefully manage the mountain snowpack in a series of mountain reservoirs so that we can have a reliable water supply through the dry summer.
 
Breaking: Deal with Mexico and tariffs delayed by one month. Apparently, some American companies are siding with Mexico in their disapproval. Long telecon between Trump and the Mexican president, seems to have led to some agreement. So it seems that tariffs are yet another negotiation weapon used by Trump. Canada too has a meeting/discussion tonight with Trump now scheduled.
