Trump's Second Term

My Finnish tax hating friend gave a pdf from https://thefga.org/.
Who knew there could be a rational way to cut down "big government." The figures on the state level jobs go state by state. My state for example does NOT pay higher salary than the equivalent jobs in the private sector. That paper probably exaggerates based on blue state salaries.

The Trump team approach is not this. It is simply to slash federal jobs by the thousand.
Those kinds of "studies" are more rationalising than rational.

the way to deal with poverty is to take things away from the poor, to give them an incentive to make money.
The Rich don't need such an incentive, since they are a superior form of being.
Ah, but this is magical Trump tariffs.
The homeless will not be paying anything extra for whatever they are unable to buy now

That sounds like the fund for projects like the internet upgrade. Musk was saying billions had been spent to achieve nothing. No, billions haven't been spent, they've been doing tenders and planning for such a complex project. The billions is there to be spent when the build phase is in progress. If it's a slush fund for Joe, why hasn't Joe got it. Did he forget to put it in his wallet when he left the Whitehouse?

ETA. I'm not an accountant. They don't have billions sitting in a bank account somewhere. They have a central pool of funds that they draw from as required.
Galaxy Brain doesn't want funding for proper broadband. It would put his garbage tier, barely better than ASDL Starlink out of business.

But if there is no new evidence what on earth could have made them alter their conclusions…. 😇
"The decision to release that assessment marks one of the first made by the CIA's new director John Ratcliffe, appointed by Donald Trump, who took over the agency on Thursday.
Ratcliffe, who served as director of national intelligence during President Trump's first term, has long favoured the lab leak theory..."

There's a nice parody waiting to be made about 'undocumented' rich tax evaders hiding in fear, in case of raids by these new IRS border guards.

Hey, maybe their job is to make Mexico pay for Trump's wall by taxing illegals as they cross.

He's still after Greenland

"I think we're going to have it," he told reporters on Air Force One on Saturday, adding that the island's 57,000 residents "want to be with us".

"I don't really know what claim Denmark has to it, but it would be a very unfriendly act if they didn't allow that to happen"

Sounds genuinely surprised to have recently been told another country might have had a prior claim on the island. I suspect he's shortly going to be explaining it to us, and telling us "people don't know that" about Denmark and Greenland.

According to The Times, per a 1917 pact, the UK would have first right of refusal, if Denmark were to sell Greenland.

Which isn't going to happen, but it would be amusing to watch trump's reaction to that.
