Trump's Second Term

Who knew? Bit by bit the wall will go up.
1440 daily digest in my email:
Tax and Immigration Bill
Details of House Republicans' tax and immigration bill began to emerge yesterday, lifting the hood on a sweeping package meant to enshrine several priorities of the Trump administration. The mega-bill—involving 11 separate committees—would provide an estimated $5T in tax cuts while targeting around $1.5T in savings.

The bulk of cost savings ($625B) is estimated to come from changes to Medicaid, which provides healthcare assistance to more than 70 million people (largely low-income households). Separately, the bill raises limits on the state and local tax, or SALT, deduction—but not as much as requested by a number of House Republicans, a key sticking point. Other key components include funding to extend a US-Mexico border wall, a $500 increase in the child tax credit, as much as a 21% tax on university endowments, a $4T debt ceiling increase, and more.

The package faces full floor votes in both the House and Senate—and must overcome opposition from a number of GOP members.

There is no way to make the Qatari 747 into an Airforce -1: it has way too little space left after all the bedrooms, movie theaters, conference rooms, bathrooms.
Just making it able to be refueled in the air would require a major overhaul.

Hasn't airforce 1 got flares and chaff and ECM and other stuff unique to a flying command centre? Isn't that major surgery on the airframe rather than aftermarket shenanigans?

They also probably have to strip the entire plane down to ensure that no bugs or any other surprises have been planted.

who converts it over? it’s a novel thing that’s never been done before and no plan in place to do it? sounds like a pretty monumental task that would take years of planning, parts, and specialized labor , what company takes it on?

Trump will just sign an EO declaring all these necessary features are already there, or unnecessary in the first place, whatever's fastest, gotta have that fancy ass plane as soon as possible!

He can always sit in the pilot's seat and go "vroom vroom." His staff can congratulate him on his perfect landing, and next time he declares himself an ace pilot in a news conference, his base will say "yeah yeah, what a guy!" Elon can steal the engines, and RFK will drink the fuel and pronounce it a miracle cure.

The huge amount of work Trump is doing to fix America makes you really realize Biden had us inches from total destruction as a functioning free country.
The ineffectiveness of the Star Whackers is a terrible shame.

Once again, The Onion gets to the truth!

MIAMI—Groaning as he scrolled through the terms and conditions and agreed to hold the platform harmless in the event of a financial loss, local man Ben Tormos told reporters Monday that he couldn’t believe he had to download a stupid app just to bribe the president. “Why can’t bribing the president be as straightforward as doing a dead drop of a briefcase in a parking garage like it used to be?” said Tormos, complaining that he had to link his bank account to a cryptocurrency exchange and make space on his phone by deleting some of the apps he used to bribe other world leaders and public officials. “What do you mean I have to ‘create a wallet’ and convert all my funds into special tokens? This was supposed to make kickbacks simple and streamlined, but it’s just a headache. Christ, I don’t want push notifications informing me about new opportunities to funnel money to the president and his family.” At press time, Tormos’ phone was reportedly glitching as a result of the Chinese spyware that came with the app.

"Biden had the USA inches from total destruction", eh? Well, we can all see that Trump has taken great strides forward from there. Into the abyss.

In Herr Schitler's world, sand dunes are "targets."

The ceasefire between the US and the Houthis announced by US President Donald Trump last week came due to the operation's costs and dangers to servicemen and equipment, The New York Times reported on Tuesday, citing US officials.

Operation Rough Rider, which began on March 15, during which the US said it struck over 1,000 targets, cost $1 billion in its first month, the NYT noted.

According to the report, CENTCOM defined the success of the operation by the amount of bombs dropped, while Intelligence officials noted the Houthis could re-establish themselves despite "some degradation."

"CENTCOM defined the success of the operation by the amount of bombs dropped"??? Do we now define victory in battle by the number of bullets, mortars and rockets fired??? WTF???

This is the consequence of the capitalist military industrial complex. War is not about the out dated concept of 'victory', but about the manufacture and purchase of materiel. Bombing sand dunes is just as successful for the manufacturer of the bombs as bombing people and rather more moral.

Next Donald will get the army to collect all the shells on a beach and declare victory over the ocean.

It's the "Rambo" success factor. More bullets plus an embedded orchestra.

This is not success.
