Trump's Second Term

But it's always a bit random when it opens, see how it is in half an hour

Companies will get around Tramp's
How long until they start to sign off their broadcasts with a Nazi salute?
Ive been expecting "Hail Trump" with nazi salute to become regular for a while. Wondering what's stopping the MAGArs from doing what they know they desire.

Because they have a big psychological need to convince themselves that they are in it for the "greater good" or other kind of noble cause garbage. No one wants to think of themselves as evil or selfish, even if they clearly are to an outside observer, so they develop a wall of rationalizations. They haven't gotten to the point where they can overlook the whole Nazi=Evil idea and still maintain their cloak of denial.

Yet.

IRS making plans to rescind Harvard’s tax-exempt status

The Internal Revenue Service is making plans to rescind the tax-exempt status of Harvard University, according to two sources familiar with the matter, which would be an extraordinary step of retaliation as the Trump administration seeks to turn up pressure on the university that has defied its demands to change its hiring and other practices.

A final decision on rescinding the university’s tax exemption is expected soon, the sources said.

Asked about CNN’s reporting on “The Arena,” Education Secretary Linda McMahon said that she doesn’t know whether Harvard will lose its tax exempt status but argued “it was certainly worth looking into.”

“We’ll see what IRS comes back with relative to Harvard,” McMahon told CNN’s Kasie Hunt. “I certainly think, you know, in elitist schools, especially that have these incredibly large endowments, you know, we should probably have a look into that.”

McMahon added that it is her “guess” that the IRS is also looking at tax exempt statuses of other universities.

Cant think of a single rational basis for removing their tax-exempt status, while maintaining it for thousands of other colleges around the country.

IRS will likely lose in court.

Didn't see this coming

"Termination"

Trump blasts Fed Chair Powell, saying his ‘termination cannot come fast enough’

President Donald Trump on Thursday ratcheted up his criticism against Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, calling for his “termination” for not cutting interest rates quickly enough. His comments come one day after the central bank chief delivered a stark warning about the effect of Trump’s sweeping tariffs on the economy.

Early Thursday morning, Trump lashed out at the Fed leader in a social media post, saying the US central bank is lagging behind its European counterpart. The European Central Bank later Thursday morning announced it is cutting interest rates for the seventh time in the past year.

“Jerome Powell of the Fed, who is always TOO LATE AND WRONG, yesterday issued a report which was another, and typical, complete ‘mess!’ Trump wrote. “Powell’s termination cannot come fast enough!”

What/who can fire him?

Only Congress can fire him, according to the law. And it must be for cause.
Laws are so pre-2025.

Trump will fire him, he will be removed from the building and his security will be revoked and nothing can be done.

He may sue and win but Trump will simply ignore any negative judgement - or even lie and claim it's a positive judgement.

Similarly to trump's vendetta against various law firms, getting the case through the legal system takes time and money, and there's no certainty about the outcome, so it's much easier (and probably cheaper) to just fold.
