Favourability is not what Trump is thinking of when he claims that USA is 'respected' again. He thinks in mob terms: USA is feared again. The negative only favourability supports this view

I think he meant that Talarico is eating meat that disgusts him for political gain among meat loving Texans. But that he then needs to “purge” himself of the evil meat he just consumed.
But with Trump, it’s never easy to tease out his real meaning, such as it is.

Whenever Trump accuses someone of something it's a pretty fair bet it's something he's done himself. I suspect Trump has at some point attempted purging to combat his weight problem. Either that or he simply throws up from overeating.
