I don't think Trump cares whether the things he says are true or not; and with somebody whose entire MO is such a careless disregard for any standard of truth other than what may serve him to say at any given moment, it's really kind of useless to debate whether he recognizes a difference that is so immaterial to him.

100% Years ago I worked for a boss who was identical. He lied almost constantly about easily disprovable things and everyone knew it. And yet if someone called him on one of his lies he would get deeply offended at the idea that someone thinks he's a liar.

I eventually came to realize that while most of us understand there are objective truths, his brain didn't work that way. Truth was whatever he needed it to be in the moment to get what he wanted. If he needed it to be completely opposite moments later, so be it.
