So the Housing bill Trump tried to hold hostage to get his voter suppression legislation through became law last night because Trump did nothing, neither signing nor rejecting it. I assume he thought, using the word loosely again, that if he did nothing it would just sit on his desk until congress caved to his demands.

A few years ago I broke my wrist. Upon arriving at the emerg, I held the door open for an indigent looking man who was also holding his arm.
We arrived together, had a similar injury, went through the process together, waiting, x-rays, more waiting, having a cast put on etc and ended up leaving at the same time a few hours later. On the way out he held the door for me.
I've always remembered that experience because at no time could I have paid or pulled a favour to jump the queue. Even though we were at different economic rungs, our basic citizenship conferred on he and I exactly the same access to health care and the costs were borne by the state. Neither of us had to worry about how to pay, only how to get better. I am very proud of that fact.
Compare that with my American-raised wife who, after a slip and fall at work, was saddled with nearly $300k of medical debt as a 19 year old.
Yeah give me the universal healthcare system any day of the week.

Curious. I wonder if this is just punishment for embarrassing Trump, as it appears, or if there's anything they might have reported that isn't already public knowledge. We know there hasn't been anything like enough time for Trump's secondhand luxury plane to be refitted with whatever defences Airforce One has. That's not a secret. Trump has started, and now can't end, a war with Iran. That's not a secret. Trump flew home from Turkey on the real deal plane. Again, not a secret.
