Tech billionaires don't think about their legacy at all, expecting the world to end once they die after living for over a thousand years.
Trump thinks of nothing but his legacy (his kids don't count for obvious reasons), hence the need to put his name on everything and destroy what he can and have it rebuilt as a monument to him.
There must be a middle way that's not purely destructive to society and the economy.
