rogan, theo von, hinchecliffe, et al wasn’t hanging around with trump and jd vance and thiel and the like until after covid and the spotify deal and he started the austin comedy scene. after that he completely changed his tune on a bunch of stuff and started getting into jesus

do i think any of that is real? no. it’s a plot to influence a demographic into voting republican imo and they paid him a lot of money because he has a huge podcast to push what they pay him to talk about

Maybe, but that rat is still a smarter rat than all the other stupid ones who stay on the sinking ship, and definitely smarter than the fat clown who's sinking it.

Better late than never is my opinion, but then again, your mileage may vary of course.

That depends entirely on what their plans are after, to strain the metaphor, they've left the ship.
Too many still want to be Republicans, just "Not as bad as Trump but still quite bad" Republicans, others only grow a spine when they're retiring, stepping down, think that they're not going to win their next election or see consequences on the horizon and are trying to be the first to turn on their ex-colleagues.

Continued action is what earns forgiveness and redemption, right now it's indistinguishable from weaselling out of consequences.

Yup, being a rat is not a bad thing, despite the need for people to pretend it is unless they're stupid like the maga weirdoes who give the cool rats a bad name.

I agree, but MTG could just collect her retirement pay and not bother calling out the fat clown, and even though I'm not a fan, she does it and that's why I give her credit.

After all, she doesn't have to do it, and there's nothing making her do it, but she still does it anyway.

Why bother doing it if people are still going to call you the same old rat. That's certainly not going to give them much motivation to do it in the first place.

And besides, that really doesn't make anyone much better than the fat clown himself, but like I said, that's just my opinion and your mileage may vary of course.

She knows she doesn't have a political future with Trump in power, and he has stymied her ambitions. So she's now working on the time after him. And that means working against him.

I think it's probably 80% ambition and 20% genuine distaste.

Given the South's general performance on "justice," I wouldn't be surprised if the jury protected him out for more... problematic reasons. Plenty of black people have been knowingly falsely convicted in the South because they were black, after all, for reference. This sounds remarkably similar to that.

The fundamental conservative goal and value is "Rules that protect the in-group but do not bind it, while binding the out-group, but not protecting it." This looks like exactly that in action.

That's probably true, but she did say that Republicans have a women problem, and that's even truer.

And that also means she's not just attacking the fat clown either.

I'm not celebrating her. I'm still not a fan, and it's more than just one act. She's not only calling out the fat clown, but also her fellow republicans because they have a woman problem.
