Trump's Second Term

Pete Hegseth
@PeteHegseth
No classified information.
Total exoneration.
Case closed.
Houthis bombed into submission.
Thank you for your attention to this IG report.

Q: Pete Hegseth is framing it as a “total exoneration.” Is that how you view the report released today?

GOP Sen. Tillis: “No…no one can rationalize that as an exoneration.”

Miller: Somehow over 250 years, we've gotten to where we are today and we've done it all without the help of Somali refugees which is really a testament to our skill as Americans.

I wonder how many people did come from the horn of Africa to America, and contributed to building it over those 250 years. Willingly or otherwise.

I also find myself wondering if, at the US centennial or sesquicentennial, there was a Miller-like character making the same speech disparaging latecomers like the Jews, the Irish etc etc.

Woke G20

Department of State
@StateDept
America's @G20org leadership is here, and we will invite friends, neighbors & partners, including new strategic partner Poland. Under President Trump’s leadership, we'll strengthen global partnerships and create new opportunities for American businesses. South Africa’s woke G20 is officially over

Ummm.... no. People are "losing their mind" because
1) Trump's age-related issues appear to be much much more serious than Biden's ever was (especially his loss of mental faculties)
2) There is no significant pushback by the republican party against Trump, to say "there is a problem here"

Yes, Biden was old. But his brain wasn't the mush that Trump's currently is (as Biden could still show periods of decent mental competence), and when it became apparent to Democrats that maybe Biden wasn't fit to serve a second time there was talk of removing him.

On the other hand, Trump accuses Biden of being a time travelling wizard, wanders off in the middle of an official signing, and regularly makes comments indicating he "doesn't know what's going on'. Yet where are the republican calls to invoke the 25th?
And that's really just scratching the surface of what was wrong with that post. Other than what you mentioned, it's pretty much night and day, across the board, as any actual patriot can easily see. Biden and the Democrats worked hard to get us out of the ditch that Trump and the Republicans so gleefully drove us into, with the Republicans screaming the whole time about how things were so much more fun while they were recklessly careening about before driving us into the ditch and blaming the Democrats for how not fun it was to deal with the aftermath of their irresponsibility. That, while often actively fighting against actually responsible Democratic efforts to get the car out of the ditch and in working order. That applies to a bunch, really, though. The economy, America's health, and international relations, especially.

With that said, Progressives did not find Biden to be a particularly favored person from the start, so calling him "their old man" is an exercise in :rolleyes:. Even if you go to Bernie, it's still dumb, because Bernie has shown every indication that he, too, would be working to put competent people who actually care about the US into power, rather than the gaggle of sycophantic psychos and fraudsters that Trump does. He'd be handling things like a mature adult who cares about the US, unlike Trump. That's a low bar that many could clear, of course, but not Republican candidates lately, for some reason.

The United States is forging ahead with a new G20. South Africa operated with spite, division, and radical agendas that failed to produce economic growth. America's G20 will propel us forward with innovation, entrepreneurship and perseverance that makes America great and provides a roadmap of prosperity to the world. We're ready to lead the way in Miami

Sleazebag Governor refuses to release a criminal.

Donald J. Trump
@realDonald Trump
The SLEAZEBAG Governor of Colorado, Jared Polis, refuses to allow an elderly woman, Tina Peters, who was unfairly convicted of what the Democrats do, cheating on Elections, out of jail! She was convicted for trying to stop Democrats from stealing Colorado Votes in the Election. She was preserving Election Records, which she was obligated to do under Federal Law. She has now served more than one year in jail, and has eight years to go. On top of everything else, she is a cancer "survivor." This lightweight Governor, who has allowed his State to go to hell (Tren de Aragua, anyone?), should be ashamed of himself.

FREE TINA!

Yep there was - in the mid-19th century the Irish immigrants caused great consternation because of course they would be loyal to the RCC's Pope not the USA, pamphlets illustrating Irish men as ape-like, sub-human were common, they were also considered prone to violence and other criminality, signs like "No Irish Need Apply" were common. The Italian immigrants at the end of 19th century caused all sorts of problems, they were "swarthy" which confused the hell out of the racist USA society, were they black or white? They were often accused of being anarchists and even socialists!!!! A bit of history that I hadn't known (I did a quick check with Wikipedia for which wave came first the Irish or Italians) the single biggest verified lynching in USA history was not of black people but swarthy Italians, 11 of them lynched after a police chief was murdered, a mob stormed the jail. The lynching was apparently viewed favourably by many.

So in fact the likes of trump and Miller are being traditionalists....
