Trump's Second Term

A judge has stopped Trump from sending the OR National Guard into Portland...at least for the next two weeks.

Reporting from "war ravaged" Portland. Pray for me.
Why is your Governor not calling out the National Guard to protect Portland citizens from Federal attack?

The Purge begins?
According to the article, Jon Harrison was appointed navy chief of staff without previous military experience, and has implemented Trump's policies in navy administration and budgeting. Apparently he is fired for trying to limit the role of the newly appointed undersecretary of the navy, who is another Trump appointee.

So hardly a purge, but perhaps infighting among Trump supporters?

Progressives: "Businesses should submit to the government!"
Also Progressives: "Damn these weak businesses that can't push the government around whenever they want!"
Context matters.

If its a situation which benefits the population in general (such as "maybe we shouldn't allow a company to pour toxic waste into a city's drinking water" then business should submit to government. If its a case of government overreach (such as "should we allow a presidential administration headed by a convicted felon to censor our broadcasts because it hurts his feelings") then they should push back.

Corporations (we hope) are headed by smart people and they should recognize the difference. And fighting against government overreach should be done because, ultimately, it is probably best for business. A failure to do so in the short term can result in significant consumer backlash. (Witness the law firms that lost business because they caved in to pressure from Trump. Or the subscribers that canceled disney subscriptions over the cancellation of Jimmy Kimmel.) And in the long term, a country with an authoritarian government can be unstable and an impediment to economic growth.

As noted, though, this isn't a case like that. The larger points that Trump IS in the Epstein Files and that Trump IS actively interfering with releasing the Epstein Files are both things that have firm evidence to support them. This isn't at all like the evidence-free accusation scenario that you are proposing.
Indeed and the Democrats are claiming the government shut down is to do with the GOP desperately trying to hold back the vote on it.

Why am I reminded of Stalin's purge of military officers, which caused a catastrophic loss of competence in his armies?
On reading again with more care, the roles involved are civilian, but the appointees have zero military experience so perhaps the point is still apt.

Democrats are shielding the terrorists.

Stephen Miller
@StephenM

The issue before is now is very simple and clear.

There is a large and growing movement of leftwing terrorism in this country. It is well organized and funded. And it is shielded by far-left Democrat judges, prosecutors and attorneys general. The only remedy is to use legitimate state power to dismantle terrorism and terror networks.

US Department of War reduces cybersecurity training, tells soldiers to focus on their mission

"The Department of War is committed to enabling our warfighters to focus on their core mission of fighting and winning our Nation's wars without distraction," the memo confirms. "Mandatory Department training will be directly linked to warfighting or otherwise be consolidated, reduced in frequency, or eliminated."

A message from the President

I am expecting a move against judges and courts very soon.

The Democrat Party has filled our legal and judicial system with radicals who protect leftwing terrorists. This is a very real and dire crisis for our Republican form of government.

Is Stephen Miller President now? The mask is off finally.

Yes, yes, I know he isn't, technically. But given the ◊◊◊◊-filled ditch of medical and mental degradation in which Trump is has been wallowing face-down these last 6-8 months, it would appear Miller IS President of the USA for all practical purposes. So it is good of the Admin to finally come out and admit this, at least. Better the Nazi you know...and all that.

A year in jail for flag burning

Donald J. Trump
@realDonald Trump

To ICE, Border Patrol, Law Enforcement, and all U.S. Military: As per my August 25, 2025 Executive Order, please be advised that, from this point forward, anybody burning the American Flag will be subject to one year in prison. You will be immediately arrested. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Barista in CA refuses to make Starbucks coffee order go to Charlie Kirk. Fox News freaks out.

There is also a NYT opinion by a barista,but I think she is not the one that served the coffee.
