Trump's Second Term

Sending American Beef to Australia is like sending coffee to Brazil.
There's just something about the sentence "[t]he other Countries that refuse our magnificent Beef are ON NOTICE" that seems so crudely typical of TrumpCo, and in more ways than one. Because if they do, we'll what? grab 'em by the gonads?

He will sign an EO making eating US Beef compulsory around the world. Anyone that doesn't will be sent to Alligator Alcatraz.

I cannot for the life of me see how anyone in Australia would buy US beef. Yes, I sometimes buy US cherries in our winter, but beef is not seasonal. Can anyone explain why US beef could be superior?

How many here have seen the South Park season premiere?

My jaw almost literally dropped at the brazenness of portraying Trump in such graphic and vulgar ways. They have every constitutional right to do so, but I mean...WOW! Poke the bear much???

And the mocking of juvenile suicidal ideation? I admire there chutzpah, but again…WOW!

I think that's the point. See if their new boss will side with them or Trump. If they get censured or canned due to Trump, it will be a PR disaster for the network. The boys will walk away stinking rich regardless.

Will it though ?

Half of the US electorate would be more likely to watch the network - the half which is currently underrepresented in the audience and a significant proportion of the rest likely don't care *that* much.

In any case, they've paid $1.5bn for South Park past and future but that's a small proportion of the cost of getting on wrong side of the Trump administration.

Headline: "Network pays $1.5 billion for show then sacks production team"

Great for Fox, disaster for network execs, many heads will roll, Trump will crow forever. Could not be a juicier story.

Is there Satan singing ? I'm not watching it if there's not ..

i'm not like a huge fan or anything and i certainly could be off base, but as i recall trey and matt are basically small l libertarians and haven't ever really shied away from getting political in their creative endeavors, to kind of get a feel for where they're coming from.

The thing is, the network's audience is mostly people who wouldn't touch TACO with a 40ft barge pole, never mind vote for him. The people happy with cancelling South Park after the episode are conditioned from a young age to hate Paramount because "WOKE"

When the oligarchy bows to a dictator's demands to not hurt his feelings, the people are either going to respect that or they're going to quintuple the mockery. I wonder what's the most likely outcome when you tell an American they're not allowed to make fun of someone? Hmmm.

Depends on what the repercussions are. If it's an unexpected encounter with ICE and an extended spell in Alligator Alcatraz (or similar) then not many people will choose to continue with the mockery IMO.

Trump on the homeless.

Trump on homelessness: "Tents -- I'm getting rid of them right now. You can't do that, especially in Washington DC. I talk to the mayor about it all the time. I said, 'you gotta get rid of the tents. You can't have it.' When leaders come to see me to make a trade deal and there's tents outside the White House, you can't have it."
