Trump's promised ICE raids have begun

They know they won't get a conviction. The goal is to terrorize people. They want to scare others out of protesting. And they don't care how much of your life they destroy, or how much taxpayer money is wasted on these actions.

This person and others are fortunate that, unlike the Nazis, Schitler and his goons don't have complete control of the courts. Yet.
The goal is suppression of opposition, of protest and ultimately, the vote. The diapered dictator has already indicated that he wants to ban early voting, mail-in voting, etc. Just a few year ago, you might say "Yeah, good luck with that." Now, it seems inevitable.

This is how ICE agents act when they think no one’s watching.

In the Chicago area, agents racially profiled a man just doing his job… and when a postal worker stepped in to ask what was happening, one of them responded with violence, assaulting a federal employee.

This is why you always film ICE.

Here's some advice. Don't get between the masked cowards if you can avoid it. Stay a safe distance away and film them, asking what their probable cause is. They likely won't answer though. Just document the event, and try not to call them cowards even though that's what they are. The more videos of these jagoffs in action, the faster the zeitgeist about them will change.

Yeah, who am I fooling?

Donald says ICE haven't gone far enough.

O’Donnell: Americans have been watching videos of ICE tackling a young mother, tear gas being used in a Chicago neighborhood, and the smashing of car windows. Have some of these raids gone too far?

Trump: I think they haven’t gone far enough.

No, he wants them to be shot, He's already asked if he can do that during his first administration.
O’Donnell: You promised you were going to deport the worst of the worst—violent criminals. A lot of the people your administration has arrested aren’t violent criminals. Landscapers, nannies—

Trump: Landscapers who are criminals.

There are many, including posters here who buy this hook, line and sinker.

That's a tough Trustpilot review!

So much better to stand there and do nothing while goons, masked to hide their identities and avoid future prosecutions, kidnap the guy fixing the neighbor´s roof.
You can stand there and scream, that's doing something. If you want to involve yourself in the arrest process then that's another level. Looks like roofing services are going to be increasing in price as the undocumented workers are replaced with locals making union wages.

Allow me to rewrite.

Heroic postal worker tries to interfere in the arrest of an undocumented labourer, gets violently rebuffed by arresting officers.

Ah who am I kidding? I didn't write that.

"Ask what' was happening". lol. You don't lean in like that to ask what's happening.

Why would you assume locals making union wages won´t be subject to the same sort of ICE behavior?

They might be but competing roofing companies wouldn't be able to cripple the competition by making a simple phone call.

I'm sure homeowners in the more progressive areas of the country would be dismayed to find out their roofing contracting are cutting corners by underpaying undocumented labour and jump at the chance to engage a company that pays their employees a living wage rather than going for the best deal.

Among those records, investigators found 56 employees either used a fake residency card or falsely reported they were U.S. citizens.

Employers can verify that information using E-Verify, a free tool to check work authorization.
But court records show the employer didn’t use the resource. When asked why, he said it’s not required and much of his competition wouldn’t use it either. In their application for a warrant, investigators alleged the business owner knew about the fake papers.

You sound naive to me.

Roofing work is generally hot, dirty, with long hours, and physically demanding. There are not enough native born crews to handle all the work that is out there.

Half the roofers in the US are foreign born. About a third are undocumented.

To assume that they are doing the work that´s out there because they can be paid less than US born workers is naive.

When Terry Bradshaw tells people to get their shingles shot, I don't think he meant calling ICE on your neighbor's roofer.
