My question, when bail is set, do authorities routinely check out the living situation of every released detainee?

Dad says he now believes Biden won. I can't tell if he's sincere. No word from Mom.

Some of the conditions judges have demanded for defendants seeking release while awaiting trial is that they don't associate with extremist groups and they stay off the internet. Because both arec breeding grounds. The problem with this specific defendant is that the custodians are themselves extremists.

His family home isn't a proper place for him. Is that different? Or is it the same? But given that the judges are all different as well as the defendants and their circumstances, nothing is ever the same.

They are/were QAnon devotees. I suppose believing that whole mess may automatically make you an extremist. Any family that decided to pile in the car and drive from Georgia to DC to join a "stop the steal" BS rally is definitely suspect

I wonder how Bruno ended up roaming the Capitol's halls with a baton while his parents (apparently) stayed well away.

At the very least, sue the Trump Organisation for billions for the repairs and cost of extra security of the Capitol building. Yeah, yeah, we know he never pays. But it will be yet another billion-dollar debt on his card to sue him with later.

People that seriously want justice to apply equally mostly discuss the "rule of law". The "Order" part of "Law and Order" has, for decades, been a thinly veiled reference that straight white Christian men are first in order, then appropriate white women, then possibly white Latinos and light-skinned Asians, then the "others" who should be killed if they get out of line, or sometimes just to terrorize them.

(Jews kinda count as "white" for the moment, but they should really go back to Israel so Jesus can be summoned back to Earth, please ignore how incredibly blasphemous this is, they don't care about that much.)

Kinda like how "Blue Lives Matter" always meant "please kill black and Hispanic people at random and let us good white folks run wild". Once Capitol Police got in the way, well, time to beat them with sticks and fire extinguishers, bear spray them, gouge their eyes out, and so on.

Yeah, it was rather amazing how little those Blue Lives Mattered when they stood between the rioters and getting into the Capitol, isn't it?

They were traitors obviously, there were serving police officers in the mob doing the beating.

It doesn't amaze me in the slightest that they tried to kill cops - white supremacists are all about that, which is why cops in gneral should stop treating them like allies in their struggle against nonviolent protestors (or anything else, really, but that in particular).

But I'll say this much - the sheer bloodlust and brutality of it surprised even me, and I'm pretty jaded. It's one thing for a white supremacist to pull a gun and start shooting at cops - they're known to do that. Gouging a cop's eye out with your hand? That's deep into lynch mob revelry in torture. I'm honestly not shocked that the guys on the CP that were left out there are having mental issues.

Who calls their kid, 'Bruno' anyway, apart from Italians? Perhaps he was named after Bruno Mars.

Presenting a thug who stormed the Capitol Hill as 'just a clean cut kid' is a joke.

You're right they should be. The parents took their spawn to the Capitol with a weapon. They were essentially his getaway drivers. I am enjoying their pain and anguish though. It's just that they should suffer.

I really don't like to see anyone suffer. Even people that I abhor. Schadenfreude is not my cup of tea.

These parents clearly care about their son. They are very much victims in a way. I think I feel sorry for the son most of all. He's going to pay for the sins of the parents.

I really wish the parents were facing the prison sentence as opposed to the son.

That is the fundamental lesson that we can't overlook. Imagine what a Trumpian fascist could have done if he had just been smarter. You can bet the next guy -- Cruz, Hawley, Cotton etc. -- has been taking notes.

It would depend on whether the parents broke any laws.

Ron Johnson says there was no insurrection.
Johnson, of course, is one of the worst Trump lickspittles in the senate.
