I agree. All three events represent previously unthinkable and violent attacks on the US. I, obviously, wasn't alive for Pearl Harbor, but I very distinctly remember the morning of 9/11. 1/6 had a very similar vibe.

Yeah, I think physical occupation of one's national capitol building is an acceptable thing to consider a major event.

Reminds me of that lady incredulously shouting "we stormed the capitol, its a revolution!" as if it were the most natural explanation for her behavior in the world.

Jan 6 actually got in to the Capitol though, the others didn't get anywhere near.
 
The GQP compared Trump being impeached to Pearl Harbor. So spare me your Pearl (Harbor) clutching.

The fact that "Is this technically under perfect laboratory conditions an According to Hoyle proper coup or just a sparkling insurrection" is so much of the discourse is proof how much the Right intends to troll their way out of this.

If your wife walks in and catches you balls deep in the babysitter and you start arguing about which Kama Sutra position you were in, you're admitting the banging to babysitter and if any sane world a year later in divorce court you still arguing about whether your were in a Venus Butterfly or a Portuguese Breakfast should be grounds for a guilty verdict and to be sanctioned under the Mental Health Act.

The coup attempt was worse. The other compared attacks on the country wouldn't, no matter how succeasful, have destroyed the country and installed a tantrum-throwing toddler as dictator.
 
Again I see a very easy solution to this.

Everyone who's been arrested for the Capital Riot can be bused to DC. We'll walk them all into the Capital Chambers, complete with all the weapons and accessories they had on that day.

We will then make an accouchement. "In 15 minutes, we are locking these people inside the Chambers, and turning off all the security cameras. An hour later, we will open them. We are giving them a blanket pardon on anything that happens within that one hour."

"So now, members of Congress. We have a decision to make. If they are just 'rowdy tourist' who didn't do anything, you can stay in here with them. However if you walk out that door before the doors lock in 15 minutes, that legally and bindingly counts as vote from you that what happened on December 6, 2021 was an armed insurrection on the orders of Donald Trump."

The Dems have just used this day for political theater, unfortunately. As I predicted, completely polarizing efforts.

I knew someone would make this claim, that the Capitol Riot was worse than 9/11 and Pearl Harbor.
