Trump's Coup d'état.

It gives a statement more Legal Force if you add Important Capitals to the Words. If they get really desperate they may start making statements in all caps, which cannot be disregarded at all!

I have to copy and paste indemnity clauses out of contracts to review them. All caps is so hard to read. Why can't we just title the section "This is where you are getting screwed" and leave it at that.

It's pretty consistent with her legal filings, one of which misspells "district" two different ways just in the title.

Hey, when your formidable mind is swimming with revolutionary legal theories, you can't waste precious resources to trivialities like basic spelling. These cats are next-level thinkers

Newly pardoned Flynn is now boosting calls for Trump to declare martial law and order a re-election that would crown him eternal god-king.

I guess Flynn has forgotten that little oath he took when he got his US Army comission, the one where he swore to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

And Sidney Powell retweeted this:

I never imagined I’d live to see such as this in my lifetime.

Flynn ,by this statement, proves he is a enemy of the United States, and is urging the POTUS to commit an act of treason.

When President Trump re-tweets it, that's when it's time to get concerned - especially if senior Republicans don't criticise him if he does so.

The US Military will refuse to carry out this order, guaranteed. AN order like this could not be more illegal.

Pluss unlike orders to torture prisoners it is actually unpopular making refusal easier. I mean you would think people would think that torturing prisoners would be about as illegal as it could get but that is clearly wrong.

So can somebody explain to me why Trump won't attempt some sort of coup-like thing when we have a vast body of examples of things he wouldn't, couldn't, can't, shouldn't, won't do, but yet did?

I contend that this latest voter fraud, fraud, is all about the grift, but if he could somehow, some way remain in office, it would be the grift that keeps on grifting. Plus, he remains immune to prosecutions.

The Independent is carrying a story that Mo Brooks, an Arizona Congressman, is planning to challenge the Electoral College result in Congress (sorry for the lack of a link, it's not something I know how to do on my phone). Is he nutty enough to do it, and what kind of ************* will it stir up if he does?

Because he is, let's face it, a pussy. He will bluster and bleat and demand and request and beg, but when it comes to actually gritting your teeth and doing something...well, he couldn't handle a 60 minutes interview without slinking away. This is not a strong man.

It is the kind of thing I think he is too much of a coward to do, as it means he either wins or goes to prison for the rest of his life. That does not seem like the kind of gamble he is likely to make.

Though I wonder if he issues the orders to the military and the refuse what then? Are they officially rebelling against the commander in chief? Who is in charge of the military then if they are refusing the president? I mean he remains president and immune from any prosecution until he would be impeached so it isn't like they can just arrest him and make pence president until the inauguration.

I posted this upthread. It's not likely to work -- it's been tried before and didn't work -- but you can bet that Trump will try it.

....

He tried hard. You might recall that he talked about cancelling the election. Then the plan was to create enough doubt about election results in the swing states that the Repub legislators would reject the vote and appoint
Trump electors. The next plan was to create enough confusion that there wouldn't be an electoral college majority, throwing the election into the Repub- dominated House (one state, one vote). It was never very likely, but it was possible. If a few state and federal judges hadn't held firm, it might have happened.

I have a feeling that whoever received the order would give him a dose of reality, and then suggest strongly they agree to "forget" he had ever asked.

MOst people in the Military would refust a order like Flynn suggests. It amounts to overthrowing the Constituion they are sworn to preserve, protect and defend.
