A five paragraph op order is not an "Order" in any sense of the term resembling your preconception. It's just a joke. He can't order anyone to do anything of the kind. An OPORD is just a method of outlining the activities of an action. As a nerdy national guard guy I practiced by writing OPORDS for family trips.

Military paperwork rewards the use of boilerplate documents. If the claim is true, I suspect he put it into an OPORD as a joke many years ago and kept doing it as a military-zen koan.

Trump is pushing the rules in every single *********** direction he can, isn't he? His SECDEF will need a waiver because he hasn't been away from service as long as the law states.

Fortunately for Trump, as any military person can attest, "there's a waiver for everything." In this case it's an act of congress, I believe.

He continues to talk up Bannon-style white nationalist populism but his cabinet is filling up with old school right wing plutocrats in economic positions. Somethings gotta give.

Are they incompatible ? I'm not sure they are.

Throw a bone to the white nationalists by making a big noise about immigration, enacting voter suppression laws and so on.

Keep the right wing plutocrats happy with corporate and individual tax cuts.

Keep both happy with deals like United Carrier where a company gets large incentives for only offshoring some of their jobs :rolleyes: - likely their plan in any case...

One wonders why.

I thought not showing them indicated that she has very close financial ties with them and didn't want that coming out. However, not showing them is not a scandal because she doesn't have to. It's a private matter.
