No, one doesn't. Going to the home of the Jews to insult the jews somehow makes sense to the crackpot in chief. Under the skin of every jew is an american struggling to get out.

Oddly, those emerging americans must be banned from actually entering america because they are insufficiently white.

Trump is a joke, and by electing the Moron in charge, the US is becoming a pariah state. Trade agreements? Toxic. Everyone now knows that the US cares not a whit and every agreement made may be obviated on a whim.

Non-proliferation, everyone knows that is a lie.

And so forth.

Everybody knows that Trump has transformed the US from a world leader into a cartoon reality show.

It is kind of sad.

That is the logical position if you believe your own religion.
 
I cry for this country.

I feel like Trump is taking us in a direction where we will ultimately deserve punishment for our deeds around the world.

By definition, none of them do. The whole point of any religious belief is that it is the One True Way, and anything else is a falsehood or, at the very least, misguided.
 
That kind of religious isolationism is falling away, though. The Ecumenical Movement is an attempt to bring some unity to all Christian denominations for example and there are a variety of interfaith organizations attempting to do the same kind of thing between different faiths.

Bringing along a pastor which has spoken against all religions except for his own seems a particularly boneheaded thing to do.
 
Mitt Romney blasted the choice of Jeffries today, calling him a bigot.
I am sure this is primarily because of Jeffries attacks on the LDS, but Romney cited a long list of Jefferis attacks on just about anybody who is not a Fundy Evangelicasl Christian.

It's Donnie playing up to his Fundy followers. he is tone deaf to everybody else.
Trump only cares about his "base".If Trump wanted to pick a minister almost guarantted to offend everybody but the Christian Fundies, he succeded brilliantly.

I don't know how much is playing up to and how much is that they are simply his go-to group when he needs suggestions.

Perhaps Hagee and Jeffries asked Pence to send them. After all, they believe a united Israel signals the return of Jesus. They have been trying to help that along.

There may be a Ecumenical Movement, but it pales in comparison to the Evangelical movement.

Evangelicals have had a "Global Mission" for decades. They've by far outdone the Mormons for sending out preachers all over the world. They are responsible for Uganda's Evangelical government (there's another thread; search for the C Street House and death penalty for gays). They are responsible for abstinence only education resulting in a resurgence of HIV as condom supply funding dried up. They market themselves in the US with 'entertainment' churches.

These guys see it as their mission to convert everyone to their religion. And Hagee and Jeffries are some of the worst.
