What have people got against Trump? He is the least fitted person for the President's job of any candidate I have ever seen. He is ill-informed, wrong about most issues, temperamentally unsuited to holding office, and lies through his teeth. He is a conspiracy theorist, anti-science isolationist. He is obviously untraveled, has no notion of how the rest of the world works, and would be deeply embarrassing to the USA on the world stage. His attitude towards women and other races is repugnant. Is that enough?

There is no "movement," certainly not one that will retain Trump as a leader after the election's over.

Trump hates the people he's speaking to, I guarantee it. Apart from their ability to be human props who will cheer at his nonsense, they have zero value to him. He doesn't want followers and only cares that anyone believes him insofar as it means they'll vote for him. He only got into this in order to get power and historical immortality (even the crappiest presidents get their places in history books).

Trump will lose the election, complain loudly about it for a few months, perhaps snipe at the left in the media, and that will be about it.

If he wasn't running as a Republican, he would be polling in the single digits.

To give a serious answer, one of my largest issues with him is that he's addressing issues I think need to be addressed in our country, but doing so in the least productive way possible, and giving incorrect, simplistic 'solutions' in the few cases where he does put forth actual policy and not simply bellow about them.

I'd dearly love for politicians on both sides of the R/D divide to have open, serious discussions on immigration reform, for example. But thanks to this ignorant, bloviating gasbag I don't see that as being possible for years to come. Start to bring up the issue in any form and people start accusing you of wanting to build a wall or send all the scary brown people back to Muslimistan.

The list is far longer than just that as I'm sure other posters here will demonstrate. For my part Trump represents the Platonic Ideal Form of self-aggrandizing, bellicose ignorance, and by speaking on issues of interest to me he poisons the well for those who want a rational discussion with people holding an opposing view from ourselves.

In real life? I suspect that is not very true for the examples you have given. Except for the nutcases, most people on the far right or left could discuss those, and there would be much agreement. Issues like abortion and those involving religion are more problematic, but they always have been.

Bill Maher has had many good moments ever since he discovered Trump's dad was actually an orangutan. Hopefully many of you saw the T-shirts on his show on HBO last night!!! Love 'em!!!!!

What I cannot follow is the nutcases and deviants who support him - I have to assume because he crawled out of the same sewers they still dwell in and made a lot of money by doing bad stuff just as they would have done if they had his family money behind them. The most terrible thing though is there are people who are not that base and just cannot or do not want to vote for the Democratic candidate who see him as their savior. By the by, are you assuming Trumpf was lying to Billy in the van? Or lying when he said very publically he would date his daughter if he could, or told Howard Stern live on air about being in the dressing rooms at his pageants when contestants were changing and nude/semi-nude. All of those are him speaking so if he really did them it is very likely did the same to at least some of the other complainents. And, of course, there is also the age factor/legal thingie in the Teen pageant ones. You are not in a place where misinformation/misstatements stand up very long !!!!!!!

It depends on if someone runs in 2020 who can take over the Trump cult. Trump won't likely run again at 74 years old. Cruz is out for the "vote your conscience" speech. It's still the white nationalism for me. His personal failings are somewhat secondary, lucky problems that doom him.

Look, you could make a case if these folks had actually ran out and, you know, voted for Sanders. But they didn't. Instead, they're raging against the woman who wants to lower their taxes, create job programs, help with addictions, and provide lower-cost access to college.

And instead, they're voting for the raging nut who wants to increase their taxes, create a "deportation force", ban and monitor muslims, create a national "stop and frisk" program to control (ie. harrass) black people. Oh, and a lot of them are blathering about the "minorities are stealing the election" nonsense.

Don't call them stupid. They aren't voting against their interest at all. White superiority is their interest.
