Possibly. If he didn't explicitly say "yes", Trump might take it as a "no". In the Holt interview though, I think he makes it clear that he knows it is a lie. He appears to be making up the last two of the "three occasions" on the fly, and quickly throws in "which I knew anyway". He starts rapidly sputtering a bunch of stuff instead of simply and directly answering the question.

That's always a possibility. I'm focused on Trump's impulsive statement that Comey should fear the existence of the tapes.

If Trump had a tape of the dinner, surely he would know Comey did not tell him he wasn't being investigated.

It's uncontrollable impulse with Trump so guessing is all we have.

Lol
Wishful thinking.

Maybe, I'm not so sure. I lived through Watergate. This has some eery similarities. Nobody thought it was much for months. Nobody thought Nixon would actually be impeached or have to resign. It depends on what the investigation uncovers. I'd bet money Flynn is going to be indicted. But that's how it starts. It's like a loose thread on a sweater. You pull on it and see if it unravels.

Where have you read that? Cause I don't think so. They do log all calls though. But changes are made all the time especially with a new administration.

I tried to find wherever I read that. Couldn't. I don't think it's a legit claim.

I remember Watergate quite well and I have mentioned similarities between what is happening today, and what happened during the Watergate investigations

I wonder if Flynn is willing to go to prison for Trump. I doubt it.

It was only done to send the left into another tail spin. I'm thanking you for him.

I know, I know, lolololol. Hilarious stuff.

In a sane world, adults would recognize the president attempting to intimidate the recently fired FBI director as a problem. This is not something that happens in advanced democracies. It's banana republic stuff.

But lololol Liburals are angry!! Cool.

There appears to be a recognisable similarity between how Trump's brain works and how logger's brain works. I think this accounts for the unflinching support. Winning matters, functioning not so much.

Unless Trump ordered it like Nixon did I doubt it. Interesting that it was Nixon's ego led to its installation. It would ironical if 44 years later it was recordings that brought down another Republican President.

Did Trump get paranoid about Obama wiretapping because he got into office and set up a taping system?

Keep in mind that Democratic operatives email accounts at every level were hacked. Think of all those emails leaked to the press. These are dirty tricks right out of Nixon's playbook. There were rumors of phones being tapped. No proof and no idea who may have did it. Who needs hired burglars when you can get Russia to do it for you?

For a year and a half after the burglaries there was nothing to link Nixon to those acts. The idea like logger says there is nothing to this is exactly what Nixon's supporters said up to the time he resigned.

Here's the truth. We don't know if Trump or members of his team was colluding with the Russians. I'd say it is very possible. But I also think it would be hard as hell to prove. Unlike the burglars and tricksters for tricky Dick you can't threaten Russian nationals to turn on Trump officials.

I posted this in the Russia thread, but it's relevant here:

Money laundering is often provable because of the paper (now digital) trail. Interesting angle.

Nixon didn't have to resign. Republicans didn't have to remove him from office. Nixon failed them and they failed him.

And naturally you forgot all the Dems asking him to resign or be fired? Were they attempting to intimidate him?

When a government employee is a **** up and his job is at the discretion of the president, saying it's banana republic stuff is just a bit dramatic, even for you.
