You wouldn't rejoice over Hitler's death? Or Stalin? Or Pol Pot? Or Idi Amin? If you had an opportunity to kill Hitler in 1915 long before he became the fascist dictator responsible for 25 million deaths and overturning the world. Wouldn't you have to do it?

You see I'm not so sure about that. Some of these defendants are having their legal bills being paid by Trump's PACs or his supporters. Do you think they are going to continue to do that? That might cause them to settle.

Alternatively, if Trump is dead, flipping on Trump gets them little. The big prize is no longer available. Now nailing each of them is prize.

Trump not being around changes the dynamic of everything.

Life would go on. But democracy is hanging by a thread. Trump is trying to be a dictator. Putin isn't as bad as any of those I listed but 50,000 Russian soldiers and 10,000 Ukrainians are dead. Then there is Chechnya. Then there are politicians, oligarchs and journalists that have been killed.
 
I want to see him convicted on multiple charges, especially the J6 charges, before he dies. The idea of him being given a state funeral and lying in state in the Capitol Rotunda of all places makes me want to vomit.

What I'd like to think is that because Trump has cultivated a cult of personality but has not done much to pass the cult on to a successor, the cult will discorporate when he does. And soon enough we will face the nasty but lesser annoyance of all the former Trump supporters who like former collaborators and former segregationists suddenly forget their history and turn out to have been secretly guiltless.

I suspect many of them will latch onto some other bigoted, hateful, narcissistic, authoritarian, jerk politician. There are a lot of them out there. They crawled out of the woodwork in the last few years.
 
I think there would be dancing in the streets, and someone will create a mash-up of "Ding, Dong! The *itch is Dead!".

I see Jimmy Carter is in his last days. I think the general reaction will be much different to that if The FPDJT croaked.

Jimmy Carter deserves a state funeral far more than Trump ever could. Carter is a decent, honest, compassionate, and kind man. A loving and loyal husband and father. A man who gave of himself to others. He is everything that the Mango Mussolini is not and never can be.

I dread the day of the Trump bitch's funeral. There had better be loyal National Guard troops with long guns on every corner of Washington DC. All of his lowlife supporters will be here on their worst behavior. Their kind can barely keep it together at one of their rallies. His funeral will be disgusting.

It came back as one of the Top posts when I looked again later. I had to comment that time. Not nicely. I even got the TwiX warning but I posted it anyway.
 
Trump really seems to energise and consolidate the absolute worst of the USA. Not the majority by any means, just the tiny fraction that make up the worst. Even mafias and gangs have some ethics. MAGA has none.
