Top Gear racist remark (again)

Have you heard the term "slope" as a racially offensive term?

Black Americans? How did you get that?

Actually the reference was older than that.

Regarding the film. It may be edited for Murrican TV,

In the American edit of the film, they just changed the dog's name to Trigger. The cuts that removed content were done by a British television station.

but I saw it recently uncut. Again it's an American thing, USAian culture seems to have always had a whiff of prissiness.

I am sorry to have to be the one to tell you this, but the heavily cut version of the film was aired on British television at least twice.

And it's not that you have "stolen" the word by declaring it offensive. it's that the world of mass culture and iNet seems to mandate strict conformity to Americanian feels.

It actually turns out that there's a group of people with no connection to America at all who heavily object to the casual use of the term. Can you guess who I'm talking about?

You are allowed to have whatever opinions you like. By the same token, other people are allowed to view you and your opinions as stupid and/or racist. Hope that helps!

Could you explain to me how my opinions are racist? Or is it just something you throw out there now and then to feed your sense of moral superiority.

If you read it again, he/she has actually, not very subtly, suggested you are stupid. Now if you were the reporting type.....

It's amazing how easy these unelected SJW find it to spew hurtful epithets. The irony!

You should note that colander often refers to "we" and "us" and speaks on behalf of imaginary "others" so he/she seems, in his/her own mind, to be certain that he/she is at the vanguard of some group protecting society from the likes of you.

It really doesn't bother me what he thinks. I don't report the minor stuff. The irony is not lost on me. And it sort of underlines my point.

I don't want to live in a society where everyone is constantly in fear of causing offense. And I don't get the big attention this gets, racism is a big problem, there are many racists and bigots out there spreading despicable things. Just look in the major online newspapers comments section, and the racist garbage floating all over Facebook. But this whole BBC thing just seems so innocent to me, I have trouble seeing any minorities getting hurt over it. I could be wrong though, if don't know.
