This is what the 2nd amendment actually says...

This is what Heller v DC effectively did...

Was it a mass shooting? How the hell am I supposed to know with all of the different definitions for what one is. There was a mass shooting in Sacramento not too long ago where 6 people were killed and 12 wounded but for some reason that is not a mass shooting.

Did the guy feel disrespected at work and just start shooting random people or were they targeted or innocent bystanders? Was this preplanned or did he just walk out to his car and grab a gun because he had a bad day? I count four or more victims as a mass shooting. Others here have random requirements for it to be a mass shooting.

I consider any shooting with four or more killed or wounded by a bullet a mass shooting. A very simple, straightforward definition.

Other members here seem to use an ever varying methodology to determine what they consider a mass shooting. Three killed, three wounded is a mass shooting. Six killed, twelve wounded is not a mass shooting. Twenty-seven wounded is not a mass shooting. Workplace shooting is a mass shooting, rap concert is not a mass shooting, shooting up in the club is not a mass shooting, targeted shooting in the hood with thirteen innocent bystanders struck is not a mass shooting.

An example: 3 Killed, 4 wounded at a rapper's birthday party in Los Angeles this Sunday.

Mass shooting or not-a-mass-shooting?

Who the **** knows?

Don't you know? You just said you have a definition and even gave it in this very same post. Can you not apply that definition to this incident, or are you pretending it's somehow difficult for rhetorical reasons?

It's others who are confused about what a mass shooting is, not me.



Speaking of not-a-mass-shooting mass shootings. This one from Philadelphia should make your head spin.

3 killed, 11 wounded when a not-a-white-supremacist(NAWS) got into a verbal altercation with two other NAWSs as he was walking down the sidewalk. NAWS #1 was punched in the face by NAWS #2. NAWS #2 then pulls out a pistol and starts shooting at NAWS#1. NAWS #1 then pulls out his own pistol and kills NAWS #2. Approximately 30 seconds after NAWS #2 is lying on the street, presumably dead, NAWS #3, a companion of NAWS #1, picks up NAWS #1's pistol and fires more rounds at NAWS #2. Nothing surprising from the culture of criminality.

Here's the real kicker. Two random NAWSs hear and see the gunfire so they pull out their own pistols and start randomly firing into the crowd where they killed 2 and injured 11 bystanders.

Some not so smart cookies will dismiss this as not-a-mass-shooting because of "gang violence" even though this mass shooting has **** all to do with gangs.

20-year-old black male, shot once in the left forearm
17-year-old black male, shot once in the right chest
69-year-old white male, shot once in the left calf
43-year-old black male, shot once in the right ankle
17-year-old black female, shot once in the left leg
19-year-old black female, shot once in the left leg
20-year-old black male, shot once in the left shoulder
17-year-old black female shot once in the left shoulder

Them fools was bustin' caps everywhere, yo! Even though only 3 died, I personally rate this a mass shooting. I mean, like random dudes just get inspired to shoot into the crowd? I know some people will say poverty is to blame, but I just can't see it.
 
Gonna vote "Not Mass Shooting". See, the first two cats were just resolving interpersonal disagreements in typical Philly style. The loud noise caused two other Pennsylvanians, naturally, to open fire into a random crowd. Exposure to Pennsylvanians renders this far more common than you might first think.

So no intent to mass shoot. It was focused shooting, followed by mindless mass shooting. Sin is in the intent, after all.
 
Having found an alleged mass shooting that is not perpetrated by a white supremacist makes you so ecstatic that you have to tell the world: This time not-a-white-supremacist(NAWS)!

2 killed, 12 wounded in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Have I mentioned this not-a-mass-shooting mass shooting? Hell, I can't remember because there are so many of them. Anyway.

Alexis Boynton Lewis, not-a-white-supremacist, opened fire on a crowd during a block party. 66 spent cartridges were found. The shooting was captured on several Facebook live streams. My favorite quote from the article:
A Facebook live video was obtained that was recording during the shooting. A black male wearing a red shirt, gray shorts, white shoes and a black satchel draped over his shoulder is seen extending his arm, backing up into the grass at the corner of McCallie Avenue and North Kelly Street. Gunshots can be heard.

A shell casing is seen falling to the right of the man, police said. He is heard saying to the woman who is recording the shooting, "You made me drop the gun, ho." He then says, "Move bitch."
A gun is seen falling on the left foot of the female who is recording with her phone. A spent shell casing is seen on the ground next to the woman.

The shooting is bad enough, but then you add in unbridled misogyny? This is painting a really unpleasant picture of the perpetrator.

66 rounds into a crowd? But some will say this doesn't count as a mass shooting because not enough people were killed. Bad aim and all. How many times do people say, "Yeah, but how many were actually killed compared to this other event?".

I really think you have to stop solely counting bodies, and look at intent.
