Did anybody show up?

The really funny one is the "occupation" of Wall Street.

http://usdayofrage.org/public-annou...ctical-plans-for-sept17-occupywallstreet.html

For those who don't know NYC let me explain the humor. Normally Wall Street on Saturday is practically empty because the markets are closed. You might get a few tourists who strayed from Battery Park or something.

In short, other than demonstrators and police no one was there.
It certainly didn't interfere with business.

That is if there were any demonstrators. Waiting for pics.

Some vids with profanity, probably NSFW:

The obligatory kaffiyeh:

The Ronulans were there:

Here for the anger:

Love the V for Vendetta Masks:

Yoga group to end capitalism:

Wow, and to think that instead of spending my day digging for fossils in the Mazon Creek formation, I could have been hanging out with these folks, accomplishing... what exactly?

ETA: Was I the only one to think that yoga group seemed to be a little bit on the TM side? :boggled:

So the usual gathering of middle-class lefties, Islamists and truthers?

Check out the dumbasses here arguing with a Ron Paul fan:

Idiot says if there was no money then nobody in the third world would have to work for coca-cola then they could become doctors.

(Warning language)

It's hard to believe that anyone could be that naive.

People like her make me miss the good old days, when cops shot protesters in the face with tear gas and crushed their skulls with billy clubs.

Sorry, I was channelling dtugg for a minute there. Carry on.

I was in strong agreement with you for a second there.
Then you come out with that.

"The call to occupy Wall Street resonates around the world"

The headline of this article in the Guardian by Micah White and Kalle Lasn.

But from the comments underneath:

"as a former 'culture jammer', I've been realising more and more how the entire movement is a paper tiger.

We talk about 'meme wars' and bringing about 'global revolution' but what actually happens? Calls for 20,000 to take Wall Street turn into a fraction of that number and as usual, its not working."
