Refusing to honor a subpoena? And a lawyer advised this?
Since when did something being "political" invalidate a subpoena.
The coverup finished Nixon because without it he had credible deniability. I think it's becoming clear that Christie is directly involved and I bet they get him for passing out Sandy money as political favors as well. He's in deep.Never would be the correct answer to that question but when your actions are indefensible all you have left is to muddy the waters as much as possible.
The coverup is what finished Nixon post Watergate. That lesson appears to be lost on Christie. He's turning a small problem into a bigger one every day.

Steve Kornacki this morning had new and confusing (to me) angles on the story.

It's mind boggling. Christie has some deal with the Port Authority Police that differs from all New Jersey police and fire unions. The former were spared all the pension and cost of living take backs seriously angering the unions of the latter that Christie had promised he wouldn't do but after the election he did.
Not sure what this has to do with what I was talking about. I suppose I wasn't clear given it's a very complex web here.I would expect this because port authority police are not new jersey state employees. They are employed by the port authority and that is run by both new jersey and new york. That is why you get port authority police in NYC where new Jersey police have no business being.
Over the years, the Port Authority has often served as a political candy jar, providing patronage jobs for political allies. Mr. Christie has been particularly skillful at doling out well-paid jobs at the authority to his supporters. By most counts, there are at least 50 agency employees who owe their jobs to the New Jersey governor.

When is the "I am not a crook" speech scheduled?
There's more here that is about to blow up. I give it a couple days before the next big bombshell drops.
I don't know if anyone watches "Morning Joe," or if I'm the only one, but... Christie's support even there is starting to loosen considerably. This morning he was dinged by Scarborough over a) the amateurish Wildstein attack memo and b) Republican candidates bailing on RGA fundraising events with the chairman of the RGA (Christie) in Florida, in Texas and now in Illinois.
It just goes to show how the long fall of a high climber makes for a big splat.
They've issued 18 new subpoenas and they are now considering contempt charges.
The Christie Doomsday clock is at 11:22pm and ticking.
Christie is now trying to invoke Executive Privilege and is attempting to strong-arm the mayor of Hoboken. The Christie Doomsday clock has reached 11:25pm.

I agree. Mountain, molehill, etc.
This will be a non-story by next week.
