Time for some TRAFFIC!

You left out the part where Christie paid a million or so of the state's money to his crony to conduct the 'investigation' that despite the fact it hasn't been released to anyone yet it's been reported it clears Christie.

So let's see what the taxpayers in NJ have overlooked recently.

How many millions in hurricane Sandy relief money to produce a campaign commercial for Christie?
The million plus to hold a special election a month or so early for the Senate seat so fewer Democrats might show up in the governor's re-election?

And now another million for a fake investigation to clear Christie and pay a crony, a twofer.

Then there was all the Sandy relief money Christie was using as his personal reward money for political favors.

You'd think NJ TEA Partiers would be paying attention.

But it's more efficient. An independent investigation might actually find something and that could take much longer and cost much more money.

If Nixon was able to have John Dean conduct the Watergate investigation it would have saved the nation millions and it would have been over much more quickly.

Money is only an issue when it's used to help poor people. If it's used to shore up political futures, or go on some grand adventure in the Middle East, or dole out cushy contracts to friends, it's golden. But if some poor person buys the wrong kind of food with their Welfare checks...?

OUTRAGE!

Surfer Dude is the new Welfare Queen.

Stewart was spot-on.

ETA: I seem to recall congress approved money for tanks the Army says they don't need. But the real outrage is the poors buying lobster.

A little off topic but apparently a few GOPers are getting concerned about what it looks like that Darryl Issa is spending millions on his never ending witch hunt.

This white wash of Christie's looks really bad on several levels.

That does seem a bit fishy, but Chris Christie's mom says he's innocent and that's good enough for me.

Ruh, roh. Didn't the DOJ get the memo that Christie was, like, totally cleared by his own investigation?

Federal prosecutors in New Jersey have convened a grand jury to investigate the George Washington Bridge lane closures, ABC News reported on Friday.

Twenty-three grand jurors on Friday heard testimony from Michael Drewniak, press secretary to Gov. Chris Christie (R). Drewniak's attorney, Anthony Iacullo, told ABC News his client was not a target of the investigation.

"I'm not going to get into the specifics as to what would be discussed in the grand jury," Iacullo said. "I would say though that Mike is a witness and we have been assured that he continues to be a witness throughout these proceedings and Mike has continued to cooperate as requested by the government into this inquiry."

Who would make the most entertaining convict? Christie or Rod Blagojevich?

David Wildstein is cooperating with the feds.

The former Port Authority of New York and New Jersey executive who orchestrated the George Washington Bridge lane closures is cooperating with federal prosecutors investigating the scandal, Esquire reported on Monday.

According to Esquire's Scott Raab, sources close to the investigation say that David Wildstein has been cooperating with Paul Fishman, the U.S. attorney in New Jersey. Raab also reported that Fishman has increased the number of investigators working the case, and has been presenting evidence and witnesses to a grand jury. (On Friday, ABC News reported that Michael Drewniak, press secretary to Gov. Chris Christie (R), testified before the grand jury.)

Tick, tock.

I said early in this thread that it wouldn't all blow over. I said Christie's career was gone. I said his doomsday clock was steadily ticking towards midnight. I see that none of those things have changed. Christie has been replaced by Jeb Bush as the GOP frontrunner, the federal grand jury is meeting now, and the issues being investigated have only grown. Christie is still delusional enough to believe that he is the most popular politician in the US, that he can put this behind him just by denying everything, and that his ability to intimidate is not evaporating. I will say again that the main issues now are whether he loses his law license and how much time he will serve in prison.

I'd like to get into Christie's head and see what's going on in there. Unless you and I are horribly wrong, he has got to understand that, at minimum, his chances of running for president are over, done, finished.

But he's acting like he's still a contender. Why? Why bother?

I've changed my mind on Christie. I think he has gone delusional. He doesn't realize that people aren't as scared of the bully as they used to be.

I think his chances of running are very good, especially if he gets some of Adelson's money.

I still don't think he has a chance of winning the nomination, but that's never stopped people from running.

You do know facts do not always matter, especially in the GOP.

SAT FEB 01, 2014 AT 05:36 PM PST - Gov. Christie: "David Wildstein will do and say anything to save David Wildstein."Christie has been preparing for Wildstein's testimony.

In an email to his supporters, with the subject line "5 Things You Should Know About The Bombshell That’s Not A Bombshell," Christie attacks Wildstein's character all the way back to when he was a 16-year-old and ends the email with this:

"Bottom line -- David Wildstein will do and say anything to save David Wildstein."
Remember the high school social studies accusation?

Benghazi 1!1!!11!

Ooops. Sorry. Wrong thread.
Benghazi has been asked and answered. The latest new email says nothing the old ones didn't say. Apparently Clinton asked for more money for security of the embassies and it was voted down by the GOP.

Chris Christie's abuse of power has yet to be completely explained.

But by all means, let's hear your reason this is analogous.
