“This is what tolerance looks like at UC Berkeley”

Any reason why you then don't add the rest of the bits? Like this:

Would you then, as a skeptic in medieval Spain, proclaim that God exists on the same basis that you now proclaim the window is owned by the bank?

Please stop derailing this thread. You've been blathering for many days now and nobody agrees with you. Know when to say when. I have asked repeatedly. Please stop.

Students have every chance to interact with them, they have email accounts, they have speaking events in their own private venues where students can go to, etc. If these students are incapable of interacting with them through all those available channels then I question whether they'd be capable of challenging and criticizing that nonsense in the first place.

The real question is, why should proponents of "scientific" racism be given a veneer of legitimacy by being allowed to promote it in the form of lectures at universities?

Because We The People never authorized our government to silence opinions, especially opinions that are disfavored by officials, which are, of course, the opinions that tend to get censored in other countries.

It has nothing to do with the inherent ignorance or racist nature of the opinions themselves. There is no "allowing", by government, allowed, by The People.

For someone whose contributions to the thread proclaim to be in defense of free speech you sure seem to find the expression of skepticism towards your beliefs to be problematic. Is this freeze peach thing only for Milo and consorts?

As to the highlighted, I'm quite confident that many of the people who are the subject of the thread (you know, the ones who stopped your dear Milo from having his event) would, by and large, agree.

Are you under the impression that the people who protested that lecture are your government? Are they even people in the first place? Because it appears that your set of "The People" only includes people who want masters to govern them.

As opposed to the people who want to use fear and intimidation to make themselves master over people who may want to listen to speech they don't approve of.

That's the inherent hypocrisy of anarchism; as much as they don't want anyone making decisions for them, they do want to make decisions for everyone else.

Fake libertarians actually being authoritarians? Shock!

I didn't add it because it doesn't fit with how you phrased it. The law assumes that god exists, but technically the law defined heresy as any action that questions the existence of god, the deification of Jesus, etc. One could *believe* what one wishes since there's no way to accurately assess the interior of another person's mind. One could not, however, speak out or convey that doubt in any fashion.

I thought I covered the scenario pretty well.

How many of the 9.66 pepper sprays do I need at my next protest?
SABRE Red Pepper Spray - Police Strength - Tactical Series with Locking Top, 10-Foot (3M) Range & 20 Bursts (Up to 5x Other Brands)

I'll have to bring some along in case some folks in Trump hats show up. It's our healthcare protest after all. They did not want any healthcare.

It's not the folks in Trump hats that have been using violence to intimidate speech. Are you sure you're in the right thread?

They came close to it during the election.
This is not to excuse the despicable behavior at Berkely, but I would not be surprised if you see some of this from the other side of the political spectrum.

Asshattery crosses all political lines.

You never know. I have to be prepared. I blame Trump for the situation. He can't control his rabid fans. And since we now sell guns to insane people again, i have to carry the mace at all times, since I have an accent. That's enough to get you shot in Trump world.

Apparently none, they are so stupid they are pepper spraying themselves :D (they tried at a protest to pepper spray left-wing counter-protesters but there was a strong wind and it blew right back into their own face)

In all seriousness though, if you're expecting physical intervention at one of your protests or are thinking of doing so at one of theirs then contact your local antifa beforehand. Even if only for legal assistance in case things go wrong and you get arrested (they'll usually have a lawyer on standby for actions) and they'll have information about the practices of local fascist groups such as how violent they are and what weapons they tend to carry.

Well, not him. He's a "real American" (white person).
