Thermitic Pyrotechnics in the WTC Made Simple

When steel buildings catch on fire, does the paint heat up to 1535 degrees C. and collapse the structure?

As the great Charles Babbage once said, "I am not rightly able to apprehend the kind of confusion of ideas that could provoke such a question."

that is a dishonest question. Seeing as there are other substances in the office buildings to take considertion of, including carpeting, computers, filing cabinets, combustible cleaning fluids (ever see windex catch on fire??), even paint, etc..

love how troofers and liars like Galileo like to over simplify a VERY complex situation.

I'm talking about the paint, not the computers, filing cabinets, and combustible cleaning fluids.

If you wanna thrown 'em in as well, have at it.

UNFORTUNATELY for you the reality is that MANY things (combustibles) lead to the failure of all three buildings on 9/11/2001. One cannot make the assumption that only 1 thing, 1 item, was the cause of the destruction

Which is why its VERY dishonest of you, hoffman and JONES to ignore this.

Yes paint does catch on FIRE. Why dont you give it a try. and it doesn't require that much heat to get paint to catch fire. AND before you say that it proves that the fires are weren't hot enough then, you AGAIN ignore all the OTHER substances in those office buildings that Could cause the Temperature of those fires tO reach the 60% point where it caused the steel trusses to fail

WHY dont you stop being an idiot and READ those reports instead of the words of a SOFTWARE engineer and another idiot?

This thread is only about the three scientific points made by Jim Hoffman in his article, or related points about the science of the thermite paper.

Okay, then. The energy density found by the paper is greater than that of thermite, and it has been shown in another thread that the only possible explanation for this is that there is combustion taking place with ambient air as an oxidation source. We can therefore place a lower limit on the energy from combustion at half the measured energy, and an upper limit of all the measured energy; and an upper limit in the energy from a hypothetical thermite reaction at half the measured energy, and a lower limit of none at all. The thermal results, therefore, while they do not exclude the possibility of a thermite reaction from the analysed chips, are not positive evidence for one. Therefore the title of the paper is misleading, as there is in fact no evidence for thermitic material in the dust samples. The possibility of garnering such evidence was excluded by the faulty experimental technique used by the authors, in that their DSC measurements were carried out in air rather than in an inert atmosphere.

Quite simply, the paper fails to prove its point.

You might note that the bit about 1535ºC comes from Hoffman's speculation, and that the paper he's referring to makes no such claim. Galileo, please follow your own instructions and stick to the science in the paper.

The office fires in steel building reach temperature of over 800 degrees C and the steel fails to hold loads. Office fires release more heat per pound than thermite by factors of 5 to 10.

Fire here weaken the steel and the building is slowly bowing:

Office fire here almost cause the floor to collapse and the building to fail; the building was saved by the fire control system finally working! Fireman had left the building for fear of collapse. You be wrong.

Fire destroys the strength of steel; fast.

People were in the WTC! No body reported thermite fires! You are wrong again.

No steel from the WTC had thermite product, tons of iron on it, or melt through caused by thermite. You are wrong.

No thermite so your failed ideas continue as delusions you want to believe made up by a software engineer who can't figure out 911 without making up dirt dumb delusions you want to believe but you forgot to use evidence, logic, and knowledge to confirm your delusions.

This is a common event, right?

At least twice as common as the reincarnation of a famous Renaissance scientist, an event you expect everyone else to accept.

Galileo, Jim Hoffman's work is a piece of propaganda with zero scientific value that manages to misinterpret even the dog's breakfast of a paper it's trying to simplify. For a Jim Hoffman article, that is a common event.

Yes, steel fails in fire. Common, so common they have to protect the steel so people can get out before failure of the steel if fire fighting fails.

I have seen steel failed structures all over the world; common for steel to loose strength in heat, it is so common is it reality, science and has to be considered in the design to protect the steel from heat and plan of fire fighting systems.

Almost as common as finding a delusion from 911Truth.

Truthers have been blathering about this "discovery" for a while now. And yet as of this morning, I see no mention of it in the MSM, nor do I see any mention of any formal proceedings taking place to re-investigate 9/11, populist or otherwise.

Galileo, when do anticipate this verifiable discovery of explosives will have any sort of real-world impact?

That's because everyone except the 1% of the population who are truthers are in on it.

I think I heard a rumour that there may have even been some aircraft fuel introduced in some manner...
