Thermitic Pyrotechnics in the WTC Made Simple

Here's an intriguing reference. In http://www.muggyweld.com/melting.html

The chart shows the melting of Cast Iron (C+Si+Mn+Fe) as 1260 C (2300 F). One therefore wonders what the effect of Al, etc in the chips would be on the melting point of the mixture of metals.

It certainly wouldn't RAISE the melting point.

Too bad they didn't think to do their tests in the absence of oxygen. That would have been much more conclusive either way.

Yes you're right. My apologies. Mackey does allude to the formation of spheres from chip combustion; this doesn't explain HOW they were created, nor whether the combustion involved the 1400C + temps alleged by Jones et al.
If you look at the pictures from Jones' paper it's hard to imagine they were already there prior to combustion. It seems more likely that they were in fact created during combustion of the chips. Does this imply very high combustion temps? If so it would seem to be a point in favor of Jones, Harrit et al.

As for spheres found in WTC dust, several sources have been suggested, such as Arc welding or Flyash, but neither of those sources is low temperature AFAIK.
So, combustion of the chips produces spheres, but you don't think that explains the spheres?

Well, Jones et al. are claiming the creation of the spheres proves that very high temps were reached, ergo Thermite.

So it's the temperature that I'd like to know more about.

btw, as Mr. Mackey has pointed out, the mere fact that spheres can be produced by this material (whatever it in fact is) disproves the previous Jones claim that they were formed from melted structural steel.

But that's a slightly different topic.

uh, dude, nanothermite in its concept has only been around for the last 4 years (at most).

nanothermite, has nothing to do with power of the incendiary (you missed this completely). its just "smaller" thermite. it has the same power and reaction as normal thermite.

stop being hooked on the "nano" part. that doesnt make the substance "uber" powerful

Yeah Uh debunker dude: Cadweld, a trade name for a product similar to Thermate, with similar reation has been around since 1938. So you can keep thinking 2 planes took down three buildings and all the PNAC war profiteers deserve the money they stole from you if it makes you happy. If you liked Bush, torture, a million deaths in Iraq endless war on false pretense of course you'd love a pet goat too.

Yeah, like, Arus is a debunker chick, not, like, a debunker dude.

Okay, back on topic:

What's red and smells like blue paint?

Anyone?

Anyone?

Red paint.

Is it? Why? Why are you seeking to complicate things unnecessarily?

LOL. I don't think it's unnecessary, otherwise I wouldn't be bothering to inquire.

Truthers are latching onto the 1400 C claim as if it were an established fact. I am trying to determine whether it really is or not. That's all.

I don't have specialized knowledge of such things, which is why I'm asking others.
