Their brothers the Arabs.

They also didn't have a policy of creating 'settlements', stealing land and water.

Hahahaha, you know nothing. You just sit in Australia and type endless retarded ill-informed comments like that in the vain hope that one day you might get it right. Try looking up the history of Jordan, maybe you and Jon_in_london could use you brains instead of your bowels for once.

Here's a head start:

In April 1950, Jordan annexed eastern Jerusalem (dividing the city for the first time in its history) and the "West Bank" areas in historical Judea and Samaria that Trans-Jordan had occupied by military force in 1948.

The Jordanian "occupation" of the West Bank was very abusive of the rights of Jews and Christians, or any resident of Israel. During the 1948-1967 period of its occupation, Jordan permitted terrorists to launch raids into Israel. Jewish and muslim residents of Israel were not permitted to visit their Holy Places in East Jerusalem. Christians, too, were discriminated against. In 1958, Jordanian legislation required all members of the Brotherhood of the Holy Sepulchre to adopt Jordanian citizenship. In 1965, Christian institutions were forbidden to acquire any land or rights in or near Jerusalem. In 1966, Christian schools were compelled to close on Fridays instead of Sundays, customs privileges of Christian religious institutions were abolished. Jerusalem was bisected by barbed wire, concrete barriers and walls.

Hahahaha, you remind me of AFarce.

In case you don't remember, the whole Israel business was not the clean cut and dried event you keep portraying it as. Jordan, at least, is not out to steal the farms and houses of Palestinians.

The political rivalries and intrigues between the Arabs have been Byzantine at best over the years. They have not involved ethnic cleansing on the scale of that attempted by Israel.

You talk about this "Mandate" as if it was something that was holy writ. It was nothing like that. It was, as Shemp as said, one of the last acts of Colonialist bastardry. And, as has often happened with such acts, it has led to years of suffering and death.

And what is this "Historical" reference. You aren't going to start quoting the Bible at me again, are you. The last time you tried that you ran away pretty quickly when you realised you had been busted.

Your keyboard has processed more denial than the stenographer at Bill Clinton's Lewinsky hearings.

Your verbosity is exceeded only by your inanity a_unique_person.

The only time I remember ZN referencing the Bible was in discussing the history of Jerusalem. On that topic, the Bible is as good a starting point as any, and being "busted" on it is hardly anything to be ashamed of.

Why would you bring it up in a discussion of 20th century history?

Why is it "bizzare". Because you are too lazy to look up any map from the 1940's of the British mandate of Palestine? Or search for the history of Jordan?

Jordan annexed the West Bank and controlled it to the day it was lost in 1967. They never said a single word about a palestinian state in those 20 years.

The map shows Palestine and Transjordan (now Jordan).

I fail to see your point.

Transjordan was part of the Palestinian Mandate territory. One of the first things Britton did was divide the territory along the Jordan river, and make the East side, Transjordan, Arab only.

I am done with AUP. He does nothing positive at JREF.

The worst part is, between his maligning of historical fact, he continually employs three avenues for his posts:

1) claims of ignorance

As far as I am concerned he is the antithesis of a skeptic.

He's just very selective in his skepticism. :)
