The war in Afghanistan is fake

Anyway, has anyone here heard about the British operation I described earlier? What's your opinion on that?

I don't have an opinion on it until you can prove it happened. A link would be a start. Until then, it is just hot air.

Funny, after a year of being on the border with Pakistan, I sure don't remember helping the Taliban.

Well first of all there are the reports of permanent bases being build in Afghanistan:

(I'm apparently not allowed to post links yet but it's necessary for the discussion so I hope nobody here minds.)
Doesn't prove we are artificially drawing out the conflict.
Why do you think that is? They're planning on staying in the Middle East for decades.
Doesn't prove we are artificially drawing out the conflict. Don't confuse your opinion with evidence.

They never went after Mullah Omar, who still heads the Taliban today. Whenever troops are close to catching him they aren't given permission to go after him. Other forces have to come but because they're far removed from him they arrive when he's already gone. Events like these have occured on multiple occassions.

Check out the geography of where he is thought to be hiding, and the politics surrounding that area, and you might get an idea for why it would be difficult to get someone.

They even flew hundreds of insurgents to Pakistan, just after the invasion.
Evidence?

It gets worse though. The British recently got caught offering the Taliban to train 5000 troops for them.
Evidence?

This was part of a plan in which the British offered the Taliban a part of an Afghan province that's responsible for half of Afghanistan's opium production, in exchange for a limited ceasefire.
Evidence?

Nato forces have also been caught dumping supplies that were picked up by Taliban forces because they were dropped 300 feet from a Taliban commander's house. Why do you think this all is?
Evidence?

I'm not going to accept your word for any of these. Give us sources that we can check.

Here you go:
independent.co.uk/news/world/asia/revealed-british-plan-to-build-training-camp-for-taliban-fighters-in-afghanistan-777671.html
Combine this with this report: iht.com/articles/2006/12/01/news/afghan.php?page=2
So, the British withdraw from the region and sign a peace deal with the Taliban. They also offer to train 2000 troops for the Taliban nearby. This is the same region where a lot of Opium is grown. Don't you agree that this will aid the Taliban?
About the supply dropping for the Taliban, here you go:

I'm curious as to how you arrived at the conclusion that these retrained fighters were intended to be used in prolonging the conflict. The article clearly states that the stated intention was get them to swap side, to use them to fight the remaining Taliban, and to provide vocational training.

I think that's the reason the British army gave when they were discovered. I don't think it makes sense though, since the article also states that the Taliban thought they were being aided by the British. I might believe the supposed reason if it wasn't for the fact that they've been caught helping the Taliban multiple times before. Right now children and teenagers are detained in Guantanamo bay by our brave American troops. But what happens when we catch a real Taliban boogeyman in Afghanistan? We let him go. It's incredible but it's been proven. If you combine that with the Taliban fighters being flown to safety to Pakistan, the Taliban folks being trained by the British, the aid given in 2001, the supplies being dumped in Taliban territory a very disturbing picture emerges.

Dave watch Ross Kemp in Afghanistan and learn something or two about what is really happening.

See, now you're just using conjecture, hyperbole, and obvious political bias. You are slowly showing yourself to be unqualified to make ANY rational judgment about Afghanistan.

Please say you're not simply an ideologue; they are SO boring.

It could be witches
Some evil witches,
Which is ridiculous
'Cause witches,
They were persecuted
Wicca good
And love the earth
And women power,
And I'll be over here

I love that episode. I have it on no fewer than 85 VHS tapes...
Col. Mustard: That's what we call "overkill."

Prof. Plum: That's what we call "psychotic."

I'm finding more evidence each and every day, suggesting that the war in Afghanistan is being artificially prolonged, by funding and aiding the Taliban who are still fighting a guerilla war in Afghanistan 7 years after the invasion. I think the reason for this is that the people who have taken control over the American government want to expand the empire. If you read Zbigniew Brzezinski's book, the Grand Chessboard, and the PNAC document you discover that both argue for a permanent base in central Asia to project power into the region. Ofcourse the calls for withdrawal of NATO troops would become to strong if the Taliban had been defeated and there wouldn't be a real threat to the current Afghan (puppet) government anymore. That's why American troops and allied forces are continously caught while aiding the Taliban in every way you can imagine. What do you think about this theory?

This seems to be one of those "heads I win, tails you lose" arguments that CTists always pose.

It doesn't matter whether things are going well for the US Army or badly...it doesn't matter if Bush's popularity ratings are high or in the gutter. Everything that happens is by design. Everything. Nothing ever goes wrong for the all-powerful NWO!

The US teams up with the Northern Alliance and drives the Taliban from power: "it's all a plot to install an obedient US ally and gain control over a strategic area!"

The Taliban re-emerge and launch a bloody insurgency in the South and East: "the US wants this to happen so they can have an excuse to stay!"

The same applies to Iraq. USA invades: "they want to gain control of Iraq so they can get free/cheap oil!" Oil prices skyrocket: "they want to give their oil buddies huge profits!"

A modern-day Tet-offensive could drive the US Army out of Iraq and Afghanistan and CTists would claim it was what Bush really wanted.

I also get a kick out of the notion that fericiously xenophobic and nationalist Pashtu tribes (who have been battling foreign and local adversaries for centuries) would not take up arms against foreign troops unless the foreigners told them to do so.

It's like you think those third-world folks are complete morons incapable of independent thought or action. How insulting!

I'm sorry, but when discussing these issues I get very upset about how we're being fooled and how this is costing innocent people their lives and occasionally I'm strugling to hide this. Please don't let this keep you from responding to my claims though. Why do our forces continually get caught doing things that aid their supposed enemy?

This doesn't make any sense at all. We (the U.S.) have permanent bases in lots of places, without any significant domestic demand to shut them down. If Afghanistan was "won" - no threat to the Afghan government, no active war getting our troops killed - most Americans, frankly, wouldn't know or care about a base in Afghanistan any more than we would care about a base in Italy, or even South Korea - where there is a threat, but without active war. It's when our guys and gals are regularly getting shot at that there is a significant demand to bring them home.

Why is it that conspiracists seem so much less observant of the real world than the average person?

I see Mr. Rothscum citing many MSM sources. I thought you truthers weren't supposed to do that.

In fact, your claims are being responded to quite nicely. The consensus is that you simply do not understand what your are reading, or are ignoring perfectly logical alternate explanations to what you are suggesting. This coupled with an obvious ideological bias make it difficult to reason with you.

I submit that it is counter productive for the US or anybody to prolong the war in Afghanistan in order to gain permanent military bases and attempt dominance in the region.

You are welcome to your opinions, but in the end they are just that: opinions. You have presented no compelling evidence that there is some kind of concerted effort by anybody but the Taliban themselves to prolong the war. I'll certainly admit that THEY have a vested interest in it, though.

Ahhhhh but, you see, they read between the lines, invert the text, dip it in sulphuric acid and bury it in soft peat until all meaning is destroyed and then they can make it say anything they can dream up.

David Rothscum obviously didn't like my theory about how the NWO wants him to know all these secret things. He'd probably prefer to believe that he had figured it all out for himself.

Sad delusion.
