The Truth about RFK Jr

He cut $600 million of autism genetics studies. Genes do not cause epidemics, it's a hoax

Question: The administration is cutting a lot of funding for medical research….

RFK JR: We are not cutting science. We are not cutting research. There were some studies paused… We cut DEI studies. We cut $600 million of autism genetics studies. Genes do not cause epidemics… We’re taking the money away from those hoax studies

Lots more studying to do

Question: You were the chair of an organization that claimed that vaccines are a contributing cause of autism despite many studies… they find correlation. Do you still agree with these claims?

RFK JR: I believe… we need to study the cause of autism. You say the potential for vaccines to cause autism has been studied…. Only one vaccine has ever been studied

"In August, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) cancelled nearly $500 million in contracts that funded mRNA vaccine development. The mRNA technology was the most commonly used platform in COVID-19 vaccines, which are credited with saving millions of lives. Bill Hanage, professor of epidemiology at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, offers thoughts on why he thinks the decision is short-sighted...'This is the best way we currently have of making vaccines quickly, based upon decades of research, much of which was funded by the National Institutes of Health. Exactly the sort of research which has now been cut.'" link.

RFK JR: By the time I leave office you are going to see a generation—may be a year, maybe two years—you're seeing a lot less ADHD. You are seeing a lot less autism, fewer neurological disorders, sleep disorders…

That's probably true; taking a leaf out of Lord Dampnut's book "Handling pandemics for dummies", they'll just stop testing for neurodevelopmental disorders.

Mother Jones noted a new trend. "Over the last few months, a handful of influential anti-vaccine activists have dabbled in polio denialism. In September, for example, Larry Cook, founder of the anti-vaccine group Stop Mandatory Vaccination, falsely claimed to his 137,000 followers on X that polio “was cured with high dose vitamin C” and that “the polio vaccine NEVER stopped polio. We’ve been lied to for decades and decades.”

Then, in October, Suzanne Humphries, a holistic medicine practitioner and anti-vaccine activist, appeared on Joe Rogan’s wildly popular podcast. “The early injection caused more paralytic polio than it prevented,” she told Rogan. “And that’s the part that people don’t understand when they say, ‘What about polio? Because there’s no more iron lungs, there’s no more crippling, there’s no more of these poor little kids walking around with their casts.’ Well, that’s not true because the iron lung is now called a ventilator.”"

Covering worldwide efforts PBS wrote, "Officials tout the successes – 3 billion children vaccinated, an estimated 20 million people who would have been paralyzed spared – while acknowledging challenges in Pakistan and Afghanistan."

CNN reported, "Scientific information on the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s website was replaced on Wednesday with anti-vaccine talking points that don’t rule out a link between vaccines and autism, despite an abundance of evidence that there’s no connection. Bullet points on the top of the page now state that “vaccines do not cause autism is not an evidence-based claim” because studies have not ruled out the possibility that infant vaccines cause autism. However, the preponderance of scientific evidence shows this is not true, according to a position statement from the Autism Science Foundation." WSJ, PBS, and other news outlets also have stories. The NYT's coverage stated that, "The C.D.C. also took down a page that advised pregnant women on the benefits of Covid-19 vaccination. “This page’s content is currently being updated to align with” recent recommendations from the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices, the page now says. It is unclear when the revised content might appear."
