Severe complications in children and adults​

Some people may suffer from severe complications, such as pneumonia (infection of the lungs) and encephalitis (swelling of the brain). They may need to be hospitalized and could die.

  • Hospitalization.About 1 in 5 unvaccinated people in the U.S. who get measles is hospitalized.
  • Pneumonia.As many as 1 out of every 20 children with measles gets pneumonia, the most common cause of death from measles in young children.
  • Encephalitis.About 1 child out of every 1,000 who get measles will develop encephalitis (swelling of the brain). This can lead to convulsions and leave the child deaf or with intellectual disability.
  • Death.Nearly 1 to 3 of every 1,000 children who become infected with measles will die from respiratory and neurologic complications.
  • Complications during pregnancy. If you are pregnant and have not had the MMR vaccine, measles may cause birth prematurely, or have a low-birth-weight baby.

Long-term complications​

Subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE) is a very rare, but fatal disease of the central nervous system. It results from a measles virus infection acquired earlier in life.

Not discussed in the list above is blindness or the issue that kookbreaker mentioned, which is loss of immune memory.

What the actual ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ ◊◊◊◊?

Anyone who has ever looked at any paper by those frauds or any of their fraudulent acolytes knows what lying sacks of ◊◊◊◊◊ they are, who should be allowed nowhere near, well, anything.

The Geier family was unknown to me before today. I found a paper by the two Geiers. I don't have time to read it just now. I also found this.

I find enough blame to go around, but parents are ultimately responsible for the welfare and wellbeing of their children. These people are killing their own kids. If hell exists, they should burn in it forever.

In today's climate, parents are responsible for the welfare and wellbeing of their children until their wishes contradict the government's social agenda. A parent's medical choices in consultation with their doctors is ultimately going to be judged by political authority based on political concerns—in some cases, criminally judged.

The sad fact is that the exact opposite is becoming a reality due the machinations of anti-vaxxers and science deniers. Some states are considering criminalizing the use of Mrna vaccines. Idiots and lunatics are in charge, gulling other idiots and lunatics.

If anything, SBM pulls one of its punches. Geier's record gives him negative credibility.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled some time ago that "clinics" that are actually political action organizations cannot be made to disclose that they are not staffed by qualified doctors and that they are not dispensing bona fide medical advice. To force them to do so would be a violation of their First Amendment rights.
